The Annual Snetterton Charity Race Day
Just an early reminder about the annual charity race day at Snetterton on Sunday 17th November.
Any one who was there last year will remember the fantastic organisation, great weather, track time, and enthusiastic crowds all in a great cause. Norwich based Shawn Taylor Motorsport have taken over the total running of this event this year and has already had amazing entries and support. A great and inexpensive way to get some later season practice in, while raising money for charity. You know you want to ... see you there. |

I guess they need to do some more publicity as the last I heard was when the original organisers pulled the plug.
Hope it all goes well. |

Shawn Taylor Motorsport were part of the the original team running it.
They have now taken over the whole responsibility because of the lack of input from the others. It will be even better now and a great opportunity to see great cars while supporting a great charity. See you there ?? |

Al,
you did not go there last year, but it was totally different and organised superbly, compared to the previous year when you were there. You could go out passenger-less and get testing and lappery in and add to the whole experience for charity. |

I used to do this back in the 90s when there was a queue to get in my old Anglebox that did 2 hrs before the battery went flat !

I fancy doing this. So basically you can give people hot-ish laps around Snett for charity?

Absolutely ...... very, very hot-ish laps, extremely well marshalled and big appreciative crowds. Another bonus is some varied and tasty machinery, fellow racers and a feel good factor as it is all in a good cause. |

Graham, I'll be there. I'll trailer the car up this time so I can do more laps without having to worry about the drive home.
Which car do you intend to bring? Is the GT40 running? |

James,
the engine runs for the 40 but i,m bringing the 917 again to help sell bits for charity and support Shawn Taylors huge effort in organising this great day. Be good to park up together like last year. |

Fingers crossed for this weekends weather and large public turnout.
134 cars booked and an impressive line up it is. Club displays, trucks on track as well, trade stands, etc, etc. If it is half as good as last year it will be great ......... and all for charity. All credit to Shawn Taylor and his team for putting this all together. Come and say hello to me and all the other Tenthers. |

Another well organised event, although rather slippery and twitchy all morning and dull weather all day. The only issue was me flat-spotting a tyre and the passengers loved it.
I don't know if the donations exceeded previous years, but there was always a queue for the rides, so I hope they did well. A photographer has uploaded a bunch of snaps here, including some nice ones of GT's stunning 917: https://www.facebook.com/DHPhotograp...8005326&type=3 |

James,
good to be parked up next door to you again and that this year your car started and ran faultlessly. Looks the dogs conkers and draws the attention. It sure was greasy most of the day and I certainly was all over the place with the 917 even at 10mph !!!!!!!!!!!!! I don,t know what they raised this year yet and will post when I find out. Think we must have been the only tenthers there this year. |
