I assume the Non Championship round is recognition that this class may be cannon fodder if the schedule runs over time and needs tightening up??

Yeah that could well be the case, will PROCAR be back at Indy this year?

The cars will apparently be in NZ for a meeting the weekend before and not able to be back in time. That's the current calendar anyway. If the IndyCars arent coming, all sorts of horsetrading may happen

There will hopefully be three different series running for this class of car 1. Aussie racers with AVESCO 2. Futureracers with PROCAR 3. Hybrids and any aussie racers, 600 Legends ect who are disgruntled with the financials of the first two will be hopefully racing as a support for another series. If anyone is interested in a cheaper alternative ie about $450 per round as opposed to around the $2,500 to 5,000 per round please contact me. We are having a test day at Wakefield this weekend. Regards Guy Wilson |

Yeah I had a look at your website, you quote a Aussie Racer at $44,000 inc GST!! Ive been told they are $38,500 inc GST?? And you say the Aussie Racers lap Wakefield Park in 1:24!! when the lap record for them is a 1:06!! What gives?

Quoting the price that I have been told by people enquiring about my pricing and I took the times of a lap off Racetime.
More than happy to be corrected. At $38,500 it makes the reported $36,000 per year to lease one look unattractive. |

Can anyone shed any light on the reasons why Futureracers were happy to let Aussie Racing Cars compete with them, but Aussie Racing Cars would not let any Futureracers race in their series?

There was a catch - Aussie racers and hybrids could race with them if
1. we changed chassis 2. we changed body 3. we changed engine and finally if we agreed to change all running gear. This was for parity reasons. We were informed this when we went to enter the procar series. |

No one can race with the aussie racers because this would effect someones back pocket.

Hybrid, is the Porsche going to run in another class or in with the Falcons, 48 Fords, FJ s, Commodores etc. Might make a bit of sense if there was a Ferrari or Corvette or similar to run with the Porsche.

I reckon a Porsche 956/962/917 silhouette body would be the duck's guts but the driver would be dragging his bum on the ground to keep the low swoopy shape recognisable.
Either that or assume the solar car position and lie down on your back or front. |

We can not run with the Aussie racers in the AVESCO series or indeed with anything organised by Phil Ward. The series we will be running will accept any 600 Legend or Aussie racers. Our series will be for anybody looking for a cheap alternative to AVESCO and with grid sizes 40-50 there should start to be some aussie racers looking for a new series to cater for the overflow of cars. Due to the layout of our chassis the ferrari and corvette are not possible to scale correctly. After the Porsche we will be looking at a BMW. |

Thats why we went for the 76 porsche - we could scale it to fit our chassis. |

I noticed that the Aussie Racers do 1.06 lap times at Wakefield but hybrid says they are much slower to match the hubrid times. Why would the Aussie Racing Organisers want to let the hybrid race with them when it is a one make series, It would be like Joe the hotrodder building his own Carrera Cup in the back yard and trying to run that in the official Porsche series. I dont think so why wouldnt a guy who has obviously put a lot into getting the Aussie Racing up and going follow the same principles.I thought the Future Racers advertised that they had a series last year but nothing happened and when you see the car in real life as I did at a Go Kart meeting recently it looks pretty weird and you would have to be desperate to even sit in one never lone buy one. I think Ross Palmer must be having a mid life crisis or he is clasping at straws to want them on his programme

Hey Pete 55 I cant for the life of me understand how these blokes get off on the tangent of copying someone else, why dont they come up with their own ideas. The Aussie series seems to be strong and these guys only want to cash in on another guys hard work and with a product that looks like it came out of the Jetsons or should be a door stop with wheels on it.I have looked at an Aussie Racer up close and they are well made with a lot of expertise clearly evident and all the drivers I have spoken to love them and the whole package of the series.Have you heard when the VY body shape will be released, I have heard it will be at the Clipsal for the first round.
