BOSSman should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
EuroBOSS @ Lausitzring 2009

Hello from Lausitzring,

Result - Free Practice
1 van Kalmthout - Benetton Judd - 1:12.188
2 de Boer - Panoz Cosworth - 1:16.345
3 Becker - Dallara Nissan - 1:18.608
4 Colacino - GForce Indy Chevy - 1:20.000
5 Milavec - Lola Cosworth - 1:20.040
6 Randlshofer - Dallara Nissan - 1:26.595
7 Monbaron - Reynard Judd - 1:40.612 (a problem with the 4th gear)

Not start
Gerstl (not really a problem > car came too late from Interserie parc ferme because he race in both series at the weekend)
Büttner (no problems > he will do only qualifying and the races)
Tavares (driver is here but the car is still on the motorway)

Henk's Panoz Champcars looks fantastic (both in blue colour), he has his 2nd car also in the garage. Marijn's Benetton, which is the ex-Pierre Schroeder Ascari Judd from 2008, looks also very good because he is now in the original blue Benetton colour scheme with big white 'Benetton* stickers on the airbox.

Marijn was today already faster than the current outright lap record who was set by Patrick D'Aubreby with 1:13.130 in the EuroBOSS race here in 2005!

If we search for more good Lausitzring BOSS news I can say that we have all 10 entries/drivers here, the sun shines and the drivers still laughs!

More news tomorrow after the BOSS qualifying...

driftwood has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
looking at lap time sthe gap is too great for a scrap but hopefully some drivers will think of making entertainment and arace and not rush away to lap the field
if they do black flag them!

BOSSman should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
EuroBOSS @ Lausitzring 2009

Sorry for the delay, but we had yesterday big Internet problems here!

Result - Qualifying
1 van Kalmthout - Benetton Judd - 1:27.284
2 Gerstl - Dallara Renault - 1:28.286
3 Milavec - Lola Cosworth - 1:29.181
4 Becker - Dallara Nissan - 1:30.161
5 Randlshofer - Dallara Nissan - 1:36.468
6 Colacino - GForce Indy Chevy - 1:37.764
7 Tavares - Dallara Renault - 1:40.049
8 de Boer - Panoz Cosworth - 1:44.399
9 Büttner - Reynard Cosworth - 8:36.510
10Monbaron - Reynard Judd - no time

Slow times because of a wet track!

Result - Race 1
1 Gerstl - Dallara Renault
2 de Boer - Panoz Cosworth
3 Milavec - Lola Cosworth
4 Becker - Dallara Nissan
5 Tavares - Dallara Renault
6 Colacino - GForce Indy Chevy
7 Büttner - Reynard Cosworth
8 Randlshofer - Dallara Nissan
9 van Kalmthout - Benetton Judd
10Monbaron - Reynard Judd

Marijn van Kalmthout stall the engine when the cars start in the warm-up lap, therefore he must start the race from the pitlane but they need a too long time till the engine was ready. Good race action in the midfield. Henk with drive-through penalty two laps before the end of the race!

Result - Warm Up
1 de Boer - Panoz Cosworth - 1:15.880
2 Becker - Dallara Nissan - 1:17.852
3 Colacino - GForce Indy Chevy - 1:21.059
4 Milavec - Lola Cosworth - 1:21.447
5 Tavares - Dallara Renault - 1:21.617
6 Monbaron - Reynard Judd - 1:28.214
7 van Kalmthout - Benetton Judd - no time (he spin the car)

All 10 cars are ready for the 25 min main race today!
The weather is hot and sunny today, a good chance for a new outright lap record!

So long, result from race 2 in the evening today!

BOSSman should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
EuroBOSS @ Lausitzring 2009

What for a race!

Marijn van Kalmthout wins his first EuroBOSS race - Ingo Gerstl after a hard fight out with technical problems!

Result - Race 2
1 van Kalmthout - Benetton Judd
2 de Boer - Panoz Cosworth
3 Milavec - Lola Cosworth
4 Becker - Dallara Nissan
5 Colacino - GForce Indy Chevy
6 Tavares - Dallara Renault
7 Büttner - Reynard Cosworth
8 Randlshofer - Dallara Nissan
9 Gerstl - Dallara Renault (fuel pressure problems)
10Monbaron - Reynard Judd (out after two laps with engine problems)

Top fight of the weekend, Milavec vs. Becker vs. Colacino, very spectacular to watch and extremely entertaining for the spectators. This was definitely the best drive from Walter Colacino in the G-Force Indycar. Also a good fight for the lead between Marijn van Kalmhout and Ingo Gerstl, but five minutes before the end of the race Gerstl's car had a problem with the fuel pressure and the engine went off (in this period he cames again very very close to Marijn).

All in all a good EuroBOSS weekend (my first race weekend as 1st man) and with only 10 cars we saw two interesting races. The spectators and the organisers have enjoyed the spectacular BOSS show!

Next race: 30/31 May 2009 - EuroBOSS Super Prix - Brands Hatch

So long...

Hello Christian,

thanks for the report and congratulations for your week-end.
By the way, please note that Carlos's car is a Dallara Nissan (chassis, bodywork and engine).

Martin if people say nothing when something is bad/wrong it is then accepted as being ok!!
So better to say something is sh-t to get it changed- where else do you see such a dumb points system ?
as for info on Euroboss it is down to the organiser to send press realeases to magazines to get the info in the press especially as all races bar 1 are in europe and maybe the magaizines do not have reporters present
IF they do have reporters there and they do not report on the race then that is bad for motorsport that the editor decides what we shall and shall not be allowed to read about

It's a motorsport travesty that this series isn't better supported by the media as it is motor racings best kept secret. There will be about a 15 spectators at Brands due to lack of promotion, if even casual fans in the South realised the event was taking place I think you would get a very healthy crowd. It is also worth pointing out that the series is very spectator friendly with access to the cars/drivers. I don't think however the series is really suited to TV as the racing isn't like BTCC/Formula Ford and the cameras don't do justice to the speed and noise of the cars.

bad promotion is down to 2 people
1 the formula organiser
2 circuit owner
entry for all motor sport events should be £1 then brands will fill its grandstands
the racers pay a fortune to run their cars its totally wrong to charge the punters £15-20 to get in to watch
if they started off at £1 then filled the stands in 5 months they can raise the gate to £2 and earn some money and reduc eteh organsing clubs fee
the circuit charge £10-15k per day plus organising club needs to pay insurance racmsa fee time keeper fee medical fee end result is 25-30k per day and the racers have to pay this
the circuit owner wants the gate money
HELLO something is fundamemtally wrong here

Looking at the timetable would it not be a better idea to have the untimed session before qualifying so that the set ups can be tweeked? Rather than the other way round.......

Thanks! Direct link to the EuroBOSS photos:

The earlier results said Randlshofer was driving a Dallara Nissan, but these photos show a Lola B99/50 with Randlshofer's name on the car:

Peter Milavec is listed as the only Lola, but I think his car is the #27 seen in some of the photos?

... to add some more info to this:

Peter Randlshofer is driving a B99/50 with a SR2 3,0 VQ AER engine. The car was built by us in 2007.

Peter Milavec was running his T92/50 NML 3,0 V8 DFY Cosworth in EuroBOSS which is, apart from the modified startermotor 100% original F3000 spec.
He further ran his other T92/50 in Interseries, which has a Heini Mader 3,5 V8 DFR fitted. Both cars were originally owned by Apomatox / DAMS in 92, they were later sold to John McNeil who ran them in British F2 in 93. For 94 season the cars went to Günther Gebhard in Germany who fitted some HSB Audi Turbo engines and ran the cars with little success in Interseries until 95.
We bought those cars in 2001 and ran 1 of the cars for Peter Milavec in 2002 and 2003. In 2003 both cars were bought by Peter Milavec who is running them for the 6th consecutive season now himself! ;-)
