Toyota going to have to put it in overdrive and pray for some Audi problems and safety cars.

One of the Rebellion Lolas has also lost its side light. Let's see if they get pulled in too...
Also, headlights I can understand in a night race. But number lamps are not for safety, this is a rule for the sake of a rule |

is it just me or is this whole racing in the dark lark not exactly ideal as far as televisual experience is concerned?

Possibly, I admit I thought the Toyota only lost the left number light, not both. But it's the only Toyota on track, so it should still be possible to identify it - the circuit is half lit anyway. But if we are going to destroy a race for a fairly pedantic reason, let's apply it everywhere. (Also Corvette 50 is guilty too.)

This has happened in the past with cars being black flagged because of damaged louvers.

Louvres, legality panels - I could just about see the point of these (avoiding unfair aero advantage, or stopping cars driving up each other's wheels). Headlamps for a night race - fine. But this was none of the above, and it has ruined a race for no good reason.

Hindy mentioned that the brochure for next year's Lotus is available. Is this a digital brochure on a website or a paper one? I would like to see it.

Don't blame the rule for spoiling the race, blame Toyota for not designing the part in a way which allowed a fast change. EDIT: Rebellion gets an orange and black flag for the exact same problem. |

Ferrari 51 also has a number plate lamp out.... that's 4 cars I've personally noticed. If they are going to apply this rule consistently (as they should!) it's going to get very silly.
I doubt Toyota (and the others) make their own number plate lamps. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the teams are only using a few suppliers between them. But surely this is not the way to decide a race. |

Ok, I will shut up now, I think race control are monitoring this thread and I'm inadvertently assisting!
We could just park the cars, and the winner is the last one to blow the lights |

Lapierre is unable to double stint the tyres. His second stint on tyres is a lot shorter than expected: 19 laps instead of 25 laps.
