Sterling Marlin takes out Tony Stewart and moves ahead of him in the standings

Just noticed this. Do you think that Sterling did it on purpose? I bet some conspiracy theorists probably think that NASCAR told Sterling to take him out after the Daytona incident.

just saw that myself, though tony did get lose and sterling was on his tail, maybe just a racing accident as there was only a handful of laps left......never heard what tony or sterling had to say about the incident though .....was there any tension between the 2

Gomick, I don't recall Tony and Sterling ever having a history, but they do now. I imagine that Tony was going to keep his mouth shut and keep himself out of hot water.

But if you really want to know what they might have said, well here goes:

Marlin: "It was just one of those racin deals."

Stewart: "He took me out deliberately and that is OK, I've got a memory like an elephant."

I seriously doubt it. Now, all I know is what I saw on the tube; it really loked like Tony got a bit loose (as noted by BP and gomick), got out of the throttle, Stirling was right there and there were other cars beside he and Tony so there was no escape route. It may be that Stirling got up behind him and took some air away from the #20, but like they all say - "Just one of them racin deals."
