The 100 Greatest motorsport moments
Channel 4 have just launched the 100 greatest sporting moments and there were only THREE out of 100 to do with motorsport they were
Villeneuve/Arnoux: Dijon 1979 Mansell's blow out: Adelaide 1986 Senna's famous lap: Donington 1993 Now I know there are other sports that deserve mentions but half of the 100 are to do with Football (From Our great wins over the Germans to a goalie I never heard of scoring a goal in dying seconds!) so I belive its time all of us conducted a spoof of those C4 shows by creating THE 100 GREATEST MOTORSPORT MOMENTS I'm only gonna say one thing now.....you decide! |

The 1935 German GP should have been included. They way Nuvolari beat the Germans with der Pechvogel Manfred von Brauchitsch unlucky once again.
Or what about : French GP @Deippe in 1906 : first GP won by Ferenc Sisz (Hun) in a Renault French GP @ Reims in 1953 : Mike Hawhtorn beating Fangio, Gonzalez & others in a breathtaking fight. German GP 1957 : Fangio's best race. French GP 1961 : Baghetti wins exciting debut race Belgian GP 1967 : Gurney & Eagle German GP 1968 : Jackie Stewart's Matra in the wet Italian GP 1971 : 5 Cars in a foto finish : won by Peter Gethin (BRM) British GP 1973 : Peter Revson Dutch GP 1975 : James Hunt & Hesketh Japanese GP 1976 : Andretti wins in atrocious conditions, Hunt champion South Africa 1978 : Peterson beats Depailler Monaco 1982 : Patrese wins chaos race without realising it Moncaco 1984 : Senna & Bellof steal the show Estoril 1985 : Senna's first victory Canada 1991 : Piquet in the Benetton Monaco 1996 : Panis brings Ligier to glory |

- Ralph De Palma pushing his Mercedes to the finish line in the 1912 Indy 500 after leading all the way - what a heartbreak!
- Stirling Moss winning the 1958 Argentine GP with the canvas showing through on his tyres - Jody Scheckter leading most of the 1973 French GP in only his fourth F1 drive - ... If I wasn't that tired I'd remember many more! Last edited by fines; 8 Sep 2001 at 22:21. |

Monaco 92 Estoril 95 Monza 71? The one with 5 cars within a second Piquet vs Salazar at Hockenheim Le Mans where 1st two are about 100yrds from each other at the finish 67/69? WSC Nurburgring 86 the hurricane one!! That CART race where Gugelmin and Blundell BOTH run out of fuel on the last lap after running1-2... the heartbreak!!! Suzuka 88 Monaco 84 Fangios amazing Nurburgring... i've read about it. Thats 10... |
