Mark F1 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Your Funniest F1 Moments

- Roberto Moreno and David Coulthard crashing going into the pits (Adelaide, 1995)
- Eddie Irvine and the pit stop saga (Nurburgring, 1999)
- Ralf left on his jacks (Spa, 2001)
- Fisichella forgeting his grid position (Malaysia, 2001)
- The two Arrows (Australia, 2002)
- Montoya's penalty for doing nothing wrong at all (Malaysia, 2002)

Oh, how I have laughed at all of these

Both Stewarts caught on fire on the Austrailia grid. The next day was Saturday in the US and it was also the running of the Sebring 12 hours. Driving a Panoz was recently fired Stewart driver Jan Magnussen. He was standing around drinking some bottled water and I wander over and said to him "I'll bet you got a good chuckle watching the Stewarts burst into flames." Magnussen laughed so hard he choked on his water. I think he really got a kick out of that. He grabbed my hand and shook it, says "thank you, I needed a good laugh," and ran into the transporter laughing and wiping his eyes.

Oh yeah, that was our very own Johnny Herbert back in 1995. I can see the face of the rear jack man in my head now, he didn't know where to look or what to do !!!!

The noise Murray made when DC crashed into the pitwall was excellent.

What about that protester running across the track in Hockenhiem?.

I also remember several years ago at Hockenhiem, a driver(I can't remember who) spun his car around and momentarily started going in the wrong direction, and Martin Brundle said "turn around, you'll be meeting someone unfriendly shortly". I just burst out laughing

Two clown-like moments by Nigel Mansell:

- after winning the 1987 Austrian GP, Nigel and the other podium placed drivers were driven back to the paddock on the bed of a jeep. The car drove under a gantry and everybody ducked, but for Nige, who was happily waving to crowd... He bang his head with such a force that even the Brazilian TV guys said "oh, my..." (Nigel used to be mocked by most of the Brazilian press as a "bronco");

- oh, again! After winning the 1989 Brazilian GP - one of the most fantastic F1 races ever - Nigel climbs to the top of the podium. There he is presented with the trophy, what he anxiously grabs with his hands and... ouch! The base of the trophy had sharp edges, and he cut his fingers.

Now, looking back, it may not be so funny seen him getting hurt, but I was living in Brazil at the time, when he was mocked by everybody - well, pretty much like Piquet in England then...

Cheers,

Muzza

Brambilla upon winning in Austria 75 took his hands off the steering wheel for a second to acknowledge the crowd and promptly smacked the car straight into the pit wall, he never lived that down

Brambilla again giving a mechanic or marshal or someone a lift back to the pits at Monza obviously forgot the guy was hanging onto the car and accelerated through parabolica rather fast dumping the poor sod into the gravel, luckily he was ok

Brambilla again after retiring in Canada he forgot to put his car into neutral and the car rolled down the hill driverless for about 250 yards before crashing

Brambilla was a character

Not F1, but a support series, so I'll put it in!

F3000 podium, Imola last year. The winner, can't remeber who was handed a lovely glass trophy. And dropped it.

Then, as if that wasn't enough, the third place driver, lft the podium with his lovely trophy. And dropped it.

You'd think they'd be trained for that, don't you!

The piquet V Salazar is a classic.

Mansell waving to the crowd on the last lap in Canada before promptly breaking down.

What race did he spin on the warm-up (my minds gone blank!). I remember him going off while driving round to the grid at Monza (is this the same thing? I seem to remember more than one instance...)

You are right. Very funny!

There are stacks for me....

- Brazil 1990, the fellow who ran accross the track as Mansell greeted the Chequered Flag...
- Germany 2000, track invador
- Piquet/Salazar, I laugh every time I see that great video
- Any press conference with Mika Hakkinen
- BAR in 1999 'yes, we will give McLaren and Ferrari a run for their money
- Gaston Mazzacane's mullet
- Vittorio Brambilla winning and then...crashing...
- DC in the pits, that's an obvious one
- Heinz-Harold giving a back marker 'the finger' nicely caught by the onboard camera's at Adelaide 1995.
- DC doing the same to Schu at Magny Cours in 2000, then his 'apology' in the press conference
- Not funny, as such, but amusing, to say the least. I am a big mika fan, so it was funny to see the ice-cool Finn crying in the bushes, at Italy 1999.
- Life, Andrea Moda, all those alledged teams.

There are just so many to choose from. F1 can make you cry sometimes, but it's moments like these that just make you proud to be a fan of this great sport.

Taki Inoue was run over by the course car twice? I thought it was just once? Can you clarify this?

Whenever "The little Anglo-German" team (Williams) overtakes Ferrari (the huge conglomorate power of F1) is pretty bloody hilarious to me.

Sodemo, it was twice.

Once at Monaco, around the back part of the track, and then again in Hungary.
