A great drive by Colin to win the event & claim victory # 25.
Well done to Citroen; Safari virgins. If they can get the cars going this well on gravel, allied to their obvious speed on tarmac they are going to be up there next year. And what can you say about Gilles Panizzi. Saves his first ever non-tarmac stage wins to the Safari...... |

Panizzi is a standout driver. Once he realises he can drive anywhere, he'll be running the other guys into the dirt.
HURRAH FOR HARRI! Even if it really does mean that all the top guys dropped out, he hung on and he looked good doing it. |

Colin was absolutely excellent. Safari is such a demanding rally, and to come through with such flying colours as Colin did - well, I take my hat off. And Harri too - he wasn't far behind Colin. Well done to them both.
Great results by Citroen. Yes, they will be right up there next year, and what can you say about Sebastien Loeb - once again proving that he is a potential World Champion in years to come. And as for Gilles Panizzi - I can't believe he won a stage! That guy is incredible! He already is the asphalt king, and, as Liz says, he'll leave the field standing when he realizes his full potential also on other surfaces. Another future World Champ, IMO. Stars in the years to come: Loeb, Panizzi, Märtin and Solberg. |
