18th and a 26th for JPM so far, there at the end both races. Laps under the belt and all that.

Kenseth is just peerless round Fontana it seems. Nice celebrations too with a duff gearbox as a result!

Solid finishes for JPM, despite bad luck in both events. He easily could have had a top 10 at Daytona and a top 20 here. Vegas is a track that everyone tested at earlier this year so JPM will have some laps under his belt at Vegas when he heads to the next race, unlike at California. He should run better at Vegas.

He's doing what he has to do, learning the car and the tracks while keeping out of trouble and making sure he doesn't fall behind once the top-35 cutoff comes into effect. He hasn't been spectacular yet, but he's shown that he belongs. He was looking really fast in the Busch race last night, but was caught in an accident that was no fault of his own. The Cup series is off next weekend so the big boys can bring out the crowds in Mexico City: hopefully Juan will find himself in his element there.

Bah! At least it'll give me chance to catch up on the sleep I lost this evening The bad news? The Las Vegas race starts an hour later than Fontana... (I'm pretty sure they're both PST?)
