Driver of 02?
Who do you think was the best NASCAR driver in 2002? Kurt Busch's late run gets him my vote.

Strange, where are all the replys gone? I remember suggesting something like "More consistency and Kurt Busch could be a champion in `03."

I noticed that U didn't have (Sir)Jeff Gordon on Ur list, perhaps afraid that He'd get too many votes?LOL!I voted other,in other words for (Sir)Jeff Gordon as He strived thru a 31 race winless streak while nurturing the #48 team along & going thru divorce proceedings throughout the season, still manage 989 laps led,3 wins,3 poles,13 Top 5's,20 Top 10's thru all the distractions! No wonder He's a 4 time Champion!!!
Tony won the Cup,IMO,by default as Nobody could get any kind of consistency going long enough to be serious competition for the Cup,but still Tony Stewart only got 4800 total points,an average of just 133.3 points per race, not even a Top 10 average(134 points),in contrast, last year Jeff Gordon amassed 5112 total points in the same number(36)of point races for an average of 142 points or an 8th place average!Sounds better to Me! |
