Being another MI16 owner, (I had a few of them, the last car is nicely tucked away for later) I'll start digging.
Kronos, now of Citroen rally fame, used to run 2 of them in group A and did very well. They still have one as far as I know. I'll try to get some pictures from them.
Obviously, there were many in France as well.

May do!
Kronos ran two cars in the Belgian championship, one for Eric Bachelart and the other ?? They were built as the early Super Tourers and went like hell.
Eggenberger had one as well.

Andrea Zanussi used to rally one in Italy.

http://www.kronosracing.com/en/references/prices.htm also found this when i typed in Andrea Zanussi ..... After Peugeot withdrew from group B rallying, they did too much group A to ignore, but nothing really front line WRC. There was an interesting selection of cars. The Italian Peugeot 405 MI16 looked stunning and managed some major ERC results between 1988-1991 in the hands of Andrea Zanussi and Andrea Aghini.

Did'nt Andrew McKenzie who later raced an XR4i with us in the ModProds have the first UK BTCC 405 entry I don't think he was over competitive with it? I remember him telling me the gearbox was massively expensive at the time (14k or was that 40??)

Think youa re right Al, was in 91 I reckon, was little more than a mod prod even then I think, was white.

Then I think Linford ran Gravett for a few years and also Ian Flux ran a 405 in Silkolene colours.

Car was no good really until they got the low ride height versions, then Gravett was quick but got dumped by Linford for Watts and O Brien I think.

Mackenzie's car was 91- if I remember rightly, it didn't debut until mid-season, and wasn't seen very often?

The original factory BTCC cars in 92 were run for Gravett, with a a second car for Fluxie at the last round- didn't Dave Coyne also have a run in the second car at the TOCA Shoot-Out at the end of the season?. From memory, Gravett got a new car late-season, and his original became the Flux/Coyne car.

Earlier in the year, one of the Italian cars came over for a one-off outing at Donington- Gary Ayles drove it.(think he spent a couple of seasons in Italy driving for the Italian Peugeot team?)

Eugene O'Brien joined Gravett for 93, with an ex-workscar run by Roy Kennedy for Flux. Gravett was dropped for Patrick Watts in 94

Yes you're right on all counts afaicr. Only execption in my memory is the Italian car coming over? Although I suspect it would've been a logical excercise to compare set ups and stuff as the Brit cars stuggled until late in the season. Gravett then hit some form and continued this into '93 when the cars were more competitive. He has a cracking scrap with Soper at a '93 Brands round and should've won i think?

I remember there were some rows about the the very succesful French cars because of their 'central' driving position. Peugeot UK tried to get hold of one of these but the factory wouldn't let them have one!! Think there was some dispute over regulations?!

Two 405s raced in The Australian Super Touring Championship in the mid '90s. I'm almost certain they were ex BTCC cars, i believe one of them is currently for sale.

Just bought the ITCC video from ebay (93 season) and giovanadi (sp) and gary Ayles ran mi16s with a lot of success , sometimes beating the Alfa Corse 155 of Tarquini , who as we all know came here the very next yr and blew all and sundry away...

Wasn't it one of the ex-BTCC 405s that I can vividly remember being pushed over the finish line of Bathurst 1997, only to be disqualified after all that effort?

No, that was a production car, raced by Peter Brock in the Bathurst 12-hour.
