Yes I heard on the tannoy that Malucelli gave you a 'touring car style' tap and spun you round in the complex? What on earth for, did Beppe Lucchini order him not to let let you get past or something??! I guess you had a word in his 'shell like' afterwards??!!

I'm also surprised that the decision wasn't to do another green flag lap to form the cars up correctly, they were already in the correct order bar the one that needed to go further up the front. Drivers know how to do this stuff and were hardly likely to collide - it would have been controlled by the startline marshals perfectly safely.

If the teams were concerned about fuel drop a lap from the race distance - surely that has to be better than taking 20 minutes with all the drivers sitting on the grid?

There will always be protests and issues of this nature, that's why we have a judicial system in motorsport, it's up to the organisers etc. to manage it at the time - it's not really fair to blame the team - they exercised their right to appeal as competitors do week in week out.

The TV crew near Happy Snapper were going ballistic as they were cutting into live satellite time - not happy bunnies at all.

Yeah ventured past there a couple of times, did you see me? The last shot was a tough one - the light was quite average. But looking back over the shots I see the F40 one needs some tweaking. I'll do that now.

Really enjoyed Silverstone...the moving around of the GT3 grid for the Saturday race was a little frustrating with the wait and did feel sorry for the marshals. The GT4 and GT90 races were good but hope their grids will grow as will be even better then!

I really enjoyed most of Sunday.

The FIA GT and GT3 races were excellent, so nice to see these big cars powering around a GP track. It was also a big bonus that the forecast rain didn't appear as I spent the first half of the race a long way from any cover.

The GT90 race was a huge disappointment, the GT4 race I didn't bother with at all...preferring to settle for breakfast instead.
The open paddock was a joke, even at 10.30 most cars were still hidden and you had no chance of seeing anything in the garages . I didn't realise that the pitlane walk was for VIPs only, there was no indication anywhere of that....I saw the queues and decided to head out to my position for the start of the race, via the paddock bite

It could have been a better event but since it had FIA in the title I'm grateful what was there worked at all.

The weekend's highlight for me was watching the cars through Maggots and Becketts. You get a real sense of just how fast they are motoring on the approach, not to mention the forces car and driver are subjected to as they shed speed and flick through the corners. The quick direction changes were quite impressive as were the downshifting sounds.

To extract the maximum out of a GT1 Aston requires a) Prodrive running the car and b) Michelin rubber. Discuss.

I'm saying this because I was a bit disappointed with the pace of the BMS cars. Its fair to say the Jetalliance car of Wendlinger and Sharp could well have been on the podium but something tells me the top step would have been too difficult to reach.

Excellent effort Sean and thanks for the interview. The podcast should be online over the next few days.

I was in the media centre and saw the pictures of you being taken out. It was a naughty move from Malucelli and ruined a deserved podium for you and the team. At least the Edil Chris Ferrari gave him a piece of his own medicine on the next lap !

Indeed, did not know his nick name was "Plato"....

Guess he did not want to get beat by another Porsche, but infact cost Porsche any chance of a podium and let Ferrari have a 1-2-3 again...

It's ok, it will go in my black book and what goes around comes around, especially if you hit me off

Well yes, we are very strong, we just need to work on Leo's ultimate pace and we will be fighting for wins for sure.

Porsche did indeed, but they have been taking notice since last year and they were not happy Germans after what Mateo did and cost Porsche a result again!

Oh well, only 1 week to Bucharest now, looking forward to that. Wonder what a tap to the cough bms porsche cough would do on a street track

DSC are reporting that after a dismal performance in Silverstone , PSI havepulled the plug on their Fia Gt show and Hines and peter are out of a job !!!

Wonder where they will go now ?

But , i feel if that is the reason , they could have given it a better shot than this , especially after their 2nd place in the season opener .

Yikes, that's a harsh business decision... I can't believe they'd pull the plug after one bad result (and running half the race missing most of your bodywork can't help performance) - must be more than meets the eye from a funding perspective of something, surely?

If they want to, find the budget and the drivers I am sure there is a place on the LMS grid at the Nürburgring and Spa.

Wonder if this decision affects their LM24 plans.

It doesn't matter how much money Pirelli put into teams like BMS or Scuderia Ecosse it they can't give them a tyre that is also equal to the Michelin. "Our Nige" made mention of the tyres and it would be interesting to have Mr Kirkaldy's comments despite his qualifying performance. Manu Collard commented last year that Michelins were worth a second a lap or more and the results tend to show the same is still true.

I spoke with Luke on Sunday morning and he was far from happy. The team were on Michelin's in Zhuhai and changed to Pirelli for Silverstone. Anyone that knows Luke will know that he doesn't hold back and he was pretty angry about the lack of performance with the tyres and he didn't mind telling the press about it!

It is a real shame particuarly as it seems that is only one issue that is causing the problems?!?!

Pirelli have the pace of Michelin's in qualifying now, but still over the race distance there struggling to last.

Pirelli have made a vast improvement since last year.

Maybe it could be financial for PSI, they were extemely happy when I got them the missing bodywork intact returned at the end of the race, very brave incident guys at my flag point retrieved it, 99% of the time this would have been a safety car job to get these back but they managed to keep the race going under a local yellow. You would expect teams at this levels to be able to just shrug off some missing bodywork, mind you it was all carbon fibre so god knows how much the replacement would have been.

Would be a shame it they pulled out, lovely sounding car and they seemed a really genuine bunch of guys that I spoke to, all be it a very confusing mix of Scottish and French.

Sean, was your Porsche the one with the missing door?

Mike, heard you bumped into one of us on the Friday whilst on walkabout. Good luck at Knockhill in a couple of weeks, hope we dont see you in the nicest possible way.
