Maybe it won't. The 'curse' of BoP has resulted in more variety than ever in GT. Maybe smaller specialists (if any exist anymore) will have a go if BoP gives them a chance to compete.

But when stacked against OEMs, normal BoP is never going to favor or even life support neverheard-constructors or teams, not at Le Mans anyway... they'll get a plate of wood instead to chew on
It's the same thing as with IMSA/NASCAR prior the split, they gave DPs/DPis great BoP for Daytona and to extent Sebring, and then for some of the "lesser races" eased off so that the remaining P2 teams wouldn't completely jump of the ship in anger

Well, that's a depressing thought.

He seems to keep a lower profile in sportscars than he did in F1 it seems

It looks like they were testing at Monza.
1:34.579 as best lap time, faster P2 got 1:35.550 (Vergne)
If they are 1 second faster than a P2 at Monza, they could be 3 seconds faster at Le mans. It looks like the car could be as fast with the Gibson than with the Nissan.

That's not too bad but at the same time it's not quick enough to challenge in lmp1. If lmp2 is at 3:28, 3:27 then ByKolles would only be 3:24's. They need to be at least 3 seconds faster than that still. Hopefully they find some speed.

Yes, they need to be faster. Last year they got 3.22 for Qualy and 3.25 on the race I think, while SMP got 3.19 and 3.20 respectively.

Let ByKolles focus on finishing, not on laptimes. Only in 2009 with the Audi R10 they finished the race.

Actually, I'm thinking that Kolles will need to be faster to not be mired in the sharp end of the LMP2 field when pro drivers are in the LMP2s. Even with very limited car development, I don't think that 3:23s are out of the question, which is just as fast if not faster than not only the last of the LMP1 non-hybrid factory cars (2012 Audi R18 Ultra), but also the 2013 spec LMP1 hybrid cars.
Even though as mentioned car development in LMP2 is limited by the cost cap and homologation rules, there's some tire development, as demonstrated by several LMP2 teams switching from Dunlop to Michelin this season.

Technically they would have received non-classified finish with 260 laps in 2015 (with AER even!) ahead of all Nissans, but they were DSQd for other reason

Several cars testing at Monza, including ByKolles car. It sounds very different with the Gibson.
VIDEO
This is the aero package on the first video.

And this is another video with the Le Mans aero package.
