MSA ROPS Removable backstays

I'm looking at fitting a roll bar including backstays to my open top kit car (road going) to make it compliant for sprinting. Can anyone tell me if the backstays must be welded to the main loop or can be removable by using a saddle etc? I'd like to route the backstays into the boot space and then remove when I'm not competing without taking out the main loop. Thanks
