B0U170NS should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

Even as someone who loves Spa 24, and GT3, the sheer volume of SRO gets tedious / confusing at times, it's over saturation.
Disagree with you 100%. How's it over saturation? Sure you have GT3 with GT Open, British GT, 24 hour series, Britcar, GT cup etc, but where else in the UK can you see 40+ GT3 cars competing. Only once a year at Silverstone with the Blancpain Endurance Championship.

Yes it might not be as picturesque as Brands Hatch or Oulton Park, but at least the cars can actually race, and overtake, at Silverstone. The sprint cup the other week was basically the Monaco GP.

I would suggest it is nothing to do with "Anyone who doesn’t enjoy 50 GT3s bombing round Silverstone needs to think about whether the sport is right for them." I love the sport as much as anyone else, but Silverstone has been clinging on based on its reputation for far too long, rather than the product it is proving. It isn't a Blancpain issue, WEC at Silverstone has the same problems.

Blancpain should be an easy sell to the UK. The fact the on track product is good, yet it isn't selling tickets suggests the problem is something else, I would suggest Silverstone is a big part of it.
What do you mean grandstand access. There's plenty of it! There's far less at Brands, or Donington or any other UK circuit. The problem in this country is that people don't seem interested in Endurance or GT racing. Silverstone doesn't have any problems selling out the GP or the Touring Cars.

It seems that every year after the Blancpain Championship at Silverstone, people come on this thread to spout out how much they dislike Silverstone.

That's because Silverstone doesn't get any better. The racing can be as good as it likes but when the viewing experience is so poor it kills it as a 'live' event for me. Really enjoyed Blancpain at Brands (despite the tragedy that has occurred on the GP loop) - couldn't bring myself to go to Silverstone.

The weekend has seen splendid weather but Saturday attendance was disappointing, with paddock sources suggesting that the lack of a significant crowd today could see the Silverstone race under threat in future Blancpain GT calendars with significant investment in marketing failing to activate enough of an attendance to justify the outlay.
The crowd size was however, surely hit by both the Royal Wedding and the BTCC meeting at Thruxton?
With glorious sunshine today though, and plenty of track action, attendence appears though to be substantially larger.

The Aston went off like a scalded cat and the Merc only really got close thanks to traffic and a slow pit stop. After the 1st stop the clearly faster Aston was all over the Merc and after it went by pulled away at a ridiculous rate.

It was nice to see something different at the front, but it's clear something has helped the performance greatly.

It looks like Grasser/Huracan has been pegged back in a similar fashion to the R8 the year before that?

It was nice to see a Porsche 'getting there' again and the Bentley rise up the order after the qualy dramas was something to behold!

Aston seemed to have it, definitely over Merc. Track must have suited it. I just wish BOP was minimal if at all. Hopefully it doesn't make that difference. But a great mixture of cars is what makes this series

It may not happen again. Nice to see Lexus got a podium 100% deserved it. If they can make it suitable for Pro Am and AM they are on a winner.

Oh i think it will!
That car is solid and one of the quickest in straightline so Ricard and Spa will suit it.

The Huracan GT3 evo kit for 2019 has been out testing. Car has a high pitch whistling noise now, not entirely sure what it is or whats new for 2019 other than the front aero.

I'm not sure about the tracks they visit and how it favors the Lexus, but they made a few wins with it in GT Open around some of the familiar tracks Blancpain visits. But they are new to the Pirelli tires.

It’s a glorious day at Paul Ricard! Lots of building work going on for the GP and for a while I thought that the viewing around Signes was closed, but a friendly local showed me which fence to crawl under so all is good.

Aston is on pole again.

What’s all this nonsense about joker pit stops? Why can’t they just leave things simple so that you can watch without being totally baffled

A lengthy FCY to clear up debris. OK, but why a Safety Car afterwards? For a single lap?
What stupid decision is that?

stupid backmarkers sometimes hold up part of the filed for needlessly long.
Notably the 55 Audi, and now the 31 Bentley.

Ironically it was one of the other Bentleys that lost a position because of it.

In a way I can understand the complaints about the BOP.

The Lamborghini is slow in a straight line, it's almost impossible to get past someone.
The Ferrari is not exactly better off, and the Porsche is about the worst: it may be as fast as anything over a lap (not even that) but is is only fast in the useless spots of the track (a few corners)

Some cars can't keep up even with the draft. The Bentley has a massive engine and tucks up right behind the Lexus and then loses time. It's just weird to watch.

This Lexus is crazy fast, the Bentley can’t even stay near with the slipstream. I wish SRO would publish speed trap data.
