Any news on the Tasmanian Festival of Speed?
Under current border closures and restrictions it should still be able to take place.
Finger crossed!

So Lee Holdsworth ends up in TCR - somewhat predictably.
Now all that remains to be seen is where or when the 2021 series kicks off - Tassie still on but looking a little shaky now with greater Brisbane added to the "naughty" list and people from there needing to isolate.

I didn't notice this post earlier.
I meant more going on about the announcement of mainstream personalities.
TCR is still not known by a lot of potential fans and making a big deal about the the media personalities make the focus on the personalities. As opposed letting the series build a fandom and then including their general sports media personalities as a validation in a year or two.

If you don't make announcements about the media coverage, how will you build a fandom? Blind luck? Pure hope that people are actually mentally drawn to cars with a 2 litre capacity and will find it via osmosis?

Head and shoulders better than any of the others in the category. Wonder how quickly he can find his feet and if it's a once off.
Confirmed now it isn't for the full series, bit of a stunt probably.

So it looks like Supercheap Auto will (at least in some portion) sponsor TCR Australia

Odd. They had Carsales, then Total occupying that space.

Gotta love spite as motivation!
Also I wonder what Supercheap would have said if Carsales got to keep their sponsorship by paying less money than Supercheap offered?

Man, you have to take it easy. Based on your posts itt, your passion for supercars is more like an alignment to a political ideology (at any cost) as opposed to enthusiastic fandom.
Chaz Mostert's presence is now a reflection of supercars superiority? He's just a journeyman driver. You might put him in exalted status, but he's just a journeyman.
Head and shoulders above the others? No. Maybe a bit and definitely more experienced, but head and shoulders is a bit over the top (as often is the case with supercars fans).
The truth is he's not even better than John Martin. Ol' mate John could easily have become a supercars superstar...But he chose the more difficult task of racing in Europe. He now just races for fun, a luxury he can choose.
What made you make the claim that he "thumped them first time out", when the evidence appears not to be the case? That's typical of supercars aligned people.
Le me guide you that what happens in practice or testing is irrelevant to us outsiders. If Mostert was the fastest in those tests, it's no big deal since it's a reflection of his talent and experience. If he wasn't fastest (like he was), then it's no big deal as it's a reflection of his unfamiliarity of the cars. You made a mountain out of a molehill.
Mostert racing is a bit of a stunt and he's not racing for the whole series. So what? Why is it a stunt? These conclusions are beyond rational.
Mostert is racing because he can, and it's no big deal if he does or doesn't. Guys like SVG, Tander and Whincup have raced one offs in GTs. No one cares and it's no big deal. But it seems Mostert racing ion TCR bothers you?
It's best you calm down because there'll be more of these "symbolic victories" for TCR in the future. But you've interpreted Supercheap's sponsorship being as a result of spite.
You want to know what would've happened if Supercheap wasn't allowed to sponsor the series even though they would've offered more money?
Nothing.
