Team BOC Season Launch

I have just returned from Brad Jones Racing's seasons launch.

held at their title sponsors premises (BOC Gas and Gear) in Wodonga the team presented its new for 2006 colours.

In bloddy hot conditions (well I was in the sun anyways) the team put on a small launch for anyone that wanted to attend (including a free sausage sizzle )

Firstly was the Intorduction by the teams sponsor representitive (and with all respect I cannot remember his name but I thought did a pretty good job) Brad Jones and then John Bowe gave a speech each on their thoughts for the 06 season.

Both drivers (and the whole team) are very excited about using SBR power for 06 and Brad said that it gave/gives the team more emphasis on developing their Chassis.
the engine is proven , we all know that but also now with 3 teams (SBR , 888 and now BJR) giving and getting technical feedback , development should be fairly speedy.

I cant quite remember all that was said but I believe Brad mentioned that 3 of the teams members have now relocated to QLD to help out on the engine front (certainly good training if they ever decide to bring the engines back in house)

I was surprised not to see Kim get up and give a speech but I guess Brad and John are the public face of the team (even though Kim is as well but I guess they are the stars of the team)

then came the unvailing of the cars , and they look pretty good too.

Interesting Brad said it wasnt the design he voted for but it was the one that the sponsors liked and thats what its all about I guess.

I would like to see the other designs as well , but anyway the 06 one is pretty good.

after the unvailing the drivers signed autographs and chatted with the fans that turned up (Thanks to both of them for signing the great little cards they handed out , alltough John nearly signed Brads , and thanks to Brad for the little Chat )

anyway I took my very crappy digital camera along to take some snaps so here is the 2006 TEAM BOC - BJR LIVERY

HUGEST Apologies to the BJR for my terrible camera work (I know its needs alot of work , and by this time i was sweating like mad and needed to get out of the sun)

but hey the team have also now launched their 2006 website with the new livery (and of course much better pictures) over at http://www.teamboc.com.au so go and check it out and see what you think.

My pictures dont do the car justice at all , and it looks much better in person than in the pictures.

anyway good luck to BJ and JB this year , I hope they have a great one

actually in person the car looks pretty good (maybe its because i havent actually laid eyes on a V8 Supercar for over a year (cant wait for Winton) but I thought this looked very neat and is certainly an improvement on last years colour scheme.

but everyone will have their own opinions I guess

Vanilla Dice has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
And they launch the car in Albury? Last year they had scrummy sangers in Sydney..

I think you would find alot of team all over the world don't always use products that they are sponsored by

I heard the same thing about SBR aswell

couldn't agree more
What are HRT putting in their motors for reliability?? Mobil 1 is not all it has been marketed up to be!!
Remember all those probs with the LS1 and Mob 1 !!

There are some huge blank spaces on those cars. Front and rear quarter panels totally devoid of sponsorship, as is much of the front spoiler.

Surely with that much spare space available, they could have done a bit better job with putting the numbers on there. They are shockingly hard to read.

One thing that I have only just noticed (after a local news piece) is that Brad will no longer be running number 21.

the cars are now 12 and 14.

Im not sure why the change or even if this has been discussed in any other thread but I wonder why this is ?

A number change for the sake of it was mentioned in the "Teams & Drivers" thread, i guess that was it. A good move now, gets rid of the ridiculous #21 and #021........

I don't like the livery, but its what the sponsor wants, which is a good thing $$$ wise, so who cares how it looks.

At first it looks rather plain. Will have to see it in the flesh to see what it really looks like i think.
