Mr. Moffat why didn't you buy the XR8, was it a price thing or do you prefer the turbo?

I like the 8. But back at the end of November when the decision was made it wasn't an option. Little did I think I'd be waiting four months though.

I also thought along the lines that for the 5 grand saving I could have leather a sun roof and a few other bits and pieces on a Turbo. It doesn't use the fuel unless your into it, it weighs less (especially over the front wheels) and it is only 20 kws peak power lower. Or, identical performance in the upper revs due to the extra weight of the V8. Admittedly slightly slower off the line due to the turbo needing to spool up.

One last reason was it was different and I thought could become a cult car because of this, like the XU1 did.

Not that I'm a Ford or Holden fan but the new XR range looks great in Phantom (purple) so if I had a reason for a big car it would be a XR8 in purple. Manual of course......

Yeap phoned a guy there yesterday, he actually said "under a certain figure and he also said he would chuck heaps of extra's on for nothing, but it all depends on what sort of trade in price he gives and how long it may take to sell my car privately! doh! R U going to the motor show next weekend?

To the original Question stear clear of Q Ford at springwood, Not a very helpful bunch from my experience.
I reckon they should put "Far" before the Q

Ditto, will NEVER go back there.

Southside seems to get the best rap from my polling ( I need somewhere to get the ute serviced) with Metro getting either very good or very bad results.

Try ordering a Turbo in the first week of December and still waiting...

That's OK, but being abused for ringing to fing out WTF is going on is a little hard to take.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Moff I'd write to head office of Ford and name the guy or the place for abusing you.
Don't take that ****, it's like they have your money, the sale is done, screw the customer.

gee December? did you get an options? Ute or sedan? i was trying to put my order in, in May but i have a heap of things to do first before that even happens. Mainly sell what I have and make sure that i get enought to pay out my loan. I have noticed that ford dealers are not doing "good deals" on ordered cars, only on cars they already have in stock which really sucks big time.

Well thanks to Mt P for a bit of insider knowledge, my car is at the dealers finally. Needs the dealer fit options attended to so it should be in the next few days in my hands.

The dealer hasn't told me this I stress - I had to find it out for myself.

As for options, sedan, turbo, phantom, sun roof, premium sound, leather, tow pack, scuff plates, mats, boot liner. Window tint. So I have waited a few days shy of four months.

Your XR sounds pretty awesome! The only options i really want is the premium sound and sunroof. i can get the xr mats, scuffs and tint thrown in for nothing, but again it's the matter of selling my car! i will probably put in on carsales.com.au if a few days and see how I go.

I hope you never got your car through a dealer in Brisbane!I don't and won't tolerate being spoken to in **** fashion, lied to etc. I have narrowed it down to 3 dealerships but again can't do anything until May, which is slowly creeping around, so hopefully i get a decent dealer and best deal from one of them!
