This is how I understood the team ran. I heard a rumour early in the 2017 season that there was some dissatisfaction at PSRX that they weren't allowed any time with the cars at Torsby between rounds: when those cars were not racing or travelling they were back at Hannover.

The above may have just have been a rumour but, as SnoodyMcFlude says in the previous post, the way the cars were built/setup suggested a VW rather than Solberg approach to their design.

Shame if that's the case as I was rather hoping to see the DS3 in action again. Maybe someone can convince Petter to get behind the wheel of it again...

(...yeah I know that's wishful thinking!)

I don't mind if both stayed out of Rallycross for good, but I think it's a major waste of good cars that are now becoming museum pieces.

For me Solberg arriving was the start of the demise of Rallycross that we used to know and love, many of folk like me would spen money and travel to the venues with history for our sport that was the appeal. With all his glam and money which led to others to jump on the bandwagon an spoil it for many others. ERC was embracing the digital age and social side with fans and young talent merging through various media platforms to promote the ERC without all the shite that we are experiencing now. Many of the old guard who where trundling around years ago took certain folks arrival and exploited that for there own gains, ultimately that and greed is what led to the crap we are now left with. I hope it all disappears up it’s own arse soon. Until the ERC name (championship) is prized away from the current holders it willl always be a shadow of its former self. Pucher made a start but this is a long way off what fans require ultimately with the one make series he has derived that alone will not suffice it’s not an obtainable feeder class. It’s not rocket science to instigate the correct formula. I know of former high profile competitors who are embarrassed by the goings on the past few years.

You know, I didn't necessarily agree but this point of view makes a lot of sense. Hopefully, the cars will race on in some series next year - more competitiors are better.

Hardly a jam packed entry at the minute, although obviously there are a few that are expected to join.

The latest info coming out of WRX is that there is 14 cars lined up for the championship my guess would be;

Munnich X 2 cars
Oliver Bennett X1
Stard X 2
ES Racing X2
Renault/Prodrive X2
Hyundai X2
Hansen Peugeot x2
Leob Racing X1

OK, so they are not obviously planning on putting any dirt down on the normal track, but using a hairpin halfway up Eau Rouge

The land where all the stuff happens is car parks at the moment, but bizarrely there is a huge grandstand in the way, so not sure what goes on there.

Typically WRC compact and lacking interesting corners, just a bunch of flat out blasts into hairpins to encourage contact and passing.

Might look better in real life perhaps

Surely he must compete somewhere. Why develop a new car otherwise?

Reminds me of Lydden. I don't have high hopes of it actually being a quality track though.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw it - it's Lydden but run the opposite way and with better beer.

Which is 2/3rds the size of Lydden. So it'll be tight slow and twisty rubbish with a bunch of tyre and concrete course demarcations like Silverstone. So it will look naff too. Awful.

They had Ludacris for the US round last year. I guess IMG wants WRX to be mainstream.

In Höljes however, typical Swedish "dansbandsmusik" or country music, local artists and rock'n roll is the go to every year. There would probably be an outrage if artists like Sean Paul or Ludacris took the stage instead. "Heja (similar to go in English), Höljes Rallycross" by Norwegian Rune Rudberg sums up the music of Höljes very well.

The artists takes to the stage during the evening when the partying starts. The music goes hand in hand with the party to say the least.

Who honestly cares.

After last years effort and the state of this years championship, I hope no bugger goes so WRX lose a ton of money.

You are backing the ruiners of rallycross if you attend in all honesty. Think of that before you think you can't do without it.
