pimmy should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
2015 BTCC prediction game

Since it's media day today and the entry list has been revealed, it's an ideal time to post this.

All you need to do is pick one driver per race and where they finish is the the points you will score. The person with the lowest score at the end of the season will win. For instance, if you pick Andrew Jordan for Race 1 and he wins then you score 1 point... Should you choose Jeff Smith and he finishes 17th, then you score 17 points.

I've tried to keep it simple and allow you to enter now and basically forget about it for the rest of the season.

The Rules:
- The person with the lowest total score at the end of the season will be Champion
- Pick one driver per race (first name and surname, only the driver, not the finishing position)
- You can only choose a driver once in the season
- There are 30 races and 32 drivers, so you must have 2 drivers unused
- Points will be awarded based on the finishing position of the driver picked... i.e. 1st scores 1 point down to 32 points for a 32nd place finish
- Should a driver retire from a race, then you will score points for the position they end in... i.e. driver to retire first finishes 32nd, therefore 32 points will be scored
- Should a driver fail to start a race or be disqualified/excluded, then you will score points equivalent to the total number of cars entered for the race
- Should a driver be replaced or substituted, the replacement will count as your pick
- For the purposes of scoring and avoidance of doubt, the results of each race will be taken from tsl-timing.com
- Picks can only be changed, updated or amended up until 00:00 GMT Saturday 4th April 2015 and not thereafter
- Late entries are welcome, but you will be scored 32 points (last place) per race for each race that has been completed before joining
- Scores will be updated as soon as possible after each race has run
- A tie breaker is required to avoid any potential equal scores
- The tie breaker will only be used at the end of the season and in the event that any entrants have the same scores
- Please post all picks in this thread as follows (including your answer to the tie breaker):

1) Brands Hatch - Driver Name
2) Brands Hatch -
3) Brands Hatch -
4) Donington Park -
5) Donington Park -
6) Donington Park -
7) Thruxton -
8) Thruxton -

24) Rockingham -
25) Silverstone -
26) Silverstone -
27) Silverstone -
28) Brands Hatch -
29) Brands Hatch -
30) Brands Hatch -

Tie Breaker - What will the pole position time for race 16 at Snetterton be, to three decimal places? (eg. 9:59.999)

The entry list can be found here.

NOTE: Mat Jackson & James Cole will race from Snetterton onwards, Nic Hamilton will race from Croft onwards (except Knockhill), Andy Priaulx will miss Rockingham.

I'd like as many entries as possible please (so, at least all members who regularly post in BTCC threads). This game has also been posted on another forum.

Good luck!

I should have 26pts for R1, not 27

In situations where there are DNS's or cars missing the event entirely, the number of cars that turn up to the event is taken into account. So 27 is correct as there were 27 entries.

The link here at TSL shows 25 finishers, with the 26th entry (Palmer) as a DNF. Therefore, as my choice 'failed to start', then shouldn't they get 26pts - as 26 cars were entered for the race?

27 cars were entered for the weekend, with Andy Wilmot being a DNS for each race. Like I said before, the number of cars that turn up for (and take part in, I must add) the event are taken into account.

For clarification, anyone who takes part in practice and/or qualifying, but not the races is deemed to have taken part in the event.

OK, it's just that's not how the rules read in the first post. The rules state the number of cars entered for a race, with no mention of cars at the event. tsl-timing make no mention of any DNS for the weekend, which is where the rules state that clarification would come from.

Only do the one prediction. Think Plato can do it in an Un sponsored ca. That passat is good. The new team of engineers have done well with it. But think aron is is gonna be a very silent points winning. That vw is gonna be good. Just hope warren Scott's doesn't run out of money

. I'll happily take the early lead with those results! There is some method in my madness of choices, but not sure it will hold up for the season
