Great first 2 rounds of the season!

Both at Fuji.

Lawson won the opener and was also strong in the 2nd, taking a 3rd.

Big field and lots of combat!!

I can see a great battle between Nojiri and Lawson this season, and as team mates too.

Agree. Pretty good effort from Lawson going straight into Qualifying at a circuit that was new to him and not having the chance to get any laps in prior because Practice was cancelled due to the weather. To put it on Grid 3 and then win the race was just fantastic.

Nojiri showed how good he is being able to ramp it up for the Sunday, and this apparently is his strength, he knows the setup changes he needs to make when he has to pick up his pace. He will be a formidable opponent.

It looks like Mugen can give them both a top car, let's bring it on!

Got the makings of a good season's watching and as opposed to F1, I just love the lack of tyre warmers and the cars seem to be able to folllow fairly closely which just makes everything much more interesting.

Lawson retakes lead in SF Championship

Lawson wins at Autopolis on tyres at least 16 laps older than his main rivals. Great race and must enhance his future prospects for a race seat at Alpha Tauri.

Yeah, great weekend for Lawson. He made the most of Nojiri missing the race.
Hopefully Nojiri is back for the next race, and that he isn't impacted too much!

With three rounds to go SF quali is about to start at Motegi.
Miyata leads Lawson by one point going into this round with Nojiri a further 24 points adrift. Lots to play for.

Well, a pretty eventful race thats given Miyata the lead in the championship and brought Nojiri back into play. Massive crash involving Lawson and three other cars.
For the championship there are now three drivers covered by ten points going into the last weekend, a double header at Suzuka at the end of October. Quite a long break really - over two months.
Some coverage of the race here

Terrible accident at Suzuka earlier. Sasahara & Otsu collided at 130R with enough ferocity that the tub of Sasahara's car ended up down the hill on the inside of the barriers between the Dunlop & Degner corners. Both drivers are OK but will not start tomorrow's race.
