If you have no paper, are a criminal in your own country, are very agressive, look stupid and never even consider working, we have something for you. The name of this ultra advanced program is "Be my guest" ! You'll have a free hotel room, many rights, you'll be made citizen of honor de la culotte bleue and have pocket money and the police will never ever bother you. An it can last at least ten years…

First problem returning to the UK....
Had my COVID test in Germany this morning. The real deal where they shove the stick up your nose and into your left lung, well it felt like it. Emailed me the negative result within 20 mins, perfect. Arrived at the euro tunnel on the french side... non !! Must be written in french, Spanish or English. What kind of united Europe is that !!!! I’m so glad we are out. |

Right...
COVID test translated to English. Straight through customs. Didn’t ask where I had been, what I had been doing, why the Cobra was in the trailer, who’s it was, what was the value, why did I have spare wheels in the van. Nobody gave a flying **** throughout the whole trip. Make of that what you will guys A. |

Glad it was easier than everyone feared. Did you have any paperwork if they'd been wanting to prod further?
There's an article here about it all: http://www.autoaddicts.co.uk/brexit-...MTJYaX45Cdq5XA |

Bit grey I know but as it happened no one was interested. Maybe in the middle of the summer when we are all returning from Spa they might take more interest, but then they are all under staffed. Did I get lucky ? Time will tell. A |

Car and trailer must have a green card, trailer below 3500 kilos must not be registered if my understanding is good. Strange are the last words: "If anyone has tested the new system – please could they report back to me so that others can learn and we can fast-track others also planning to race in Europe"

I presume that would be some kind of third party liability rather than simply for theft. There'll soon be specialist policies I'm sure. But it all adds costs that weren't there last month.

I have insurance on the Rover for transport and paddock. Race is separate. The MG is fully road registered and has fully comp insurance.
Around £400 per annum. Trailer is also insured, another £200 roughly. |

It certainly all depends on exactly what type of insurance is actually required. Don't forget that it was only about a year ago that motor racing vehicles were exempted from having to be covered by insurance when it was mandated that all off-road machinery were so covered. |

They still are in the UK. I recall Mike B telling me he wouldn't transport any race cars unless they were insured.

But what insurance, Peter? I can imagine that Mike may have been concerned only about accidental damage and/or theft insurance, so that he was covered against the event of any possible claim. |

I suspect that in order to pass through with a car on a trailer using a V5C, you will also need a green card which is what they mean by needing insurance. You can then show intent to use on the road and thus the car isnt goods.
You will also need the same for your paddock bike too |

This article also raises a point we have identified internally - need to bring back any broken spares/used tyres etc so the carnet matches the one on the way out.

Yup that is correct. And both my race cars are insured for that. Additionally the MG is insured for the road and is road registered.
