I have some spare tickets for Thruxton this weekend that I would be happy to give to anyone who can make use of them. They can be emailed.

Looks like this event has recovered from two or three disappointing years. Fabulous entries for the Jochen Rindt trophy and Swinging Sixties and lots of other good things as well. The NASCAR demo should be impressive too. Looking forward to two days at my second favourite track

Mike I'm planning to go so if they are still available I could use them. I'd be happy to make a donation to charity in acknowledgement

Decent weather, good sized grids, apart from the Guards, some excellent racing. Fiscar grid had lots of nice cars, congrats John.

Hoping for more of the same tomorrow.

Lots of hard graft from the organiser I expect. Not only was the grid full, practically every car was high quality and special in some way. They raced unsilenced too, much to my surprise, and the sounds were heavenly.
Marcus Pye said on mic that he thought there would be a move away from long championships towards single races or short series of two or three events in the future. Castle Combe has a stand alone single seater race in August but their success with these in previous years has been pretty woeful it must be said.

Thanks, John. The day wasn't without its drama in the FISCAR camp, and quite eventful but the grid was very pleasing with some very rare cars in it.

I think it's a combination of factors.

The Jochen Rindt trophy entry fee was approximately £250 less than the Derek Bell Trophy one. Secondly, the class structure for the JRT is perhaps more conducive for attracting F3s and FF2000s as Formula 5000s and the 'newer' F2s aren't eligible. Finally, and as already said, the JRT is actively promoted to great effect.

A couple of batches from the Saturday of the meeting. Fiscar was the best entry of the day with some lovely cars. #460 had a difficult qually at Campbell:

I did try to see you Iain as I'm sure Mary told you but bad timing on my part as I think you were on track. Hope wedding goes well.
