Peter Scillitoe should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
BARC Formula One Motorsport Saloons & BRSCC/BARC Southern Sports & Saloons

Can any drivers allegedly participating in either of these two championships care to explain why nobody bothered to turn up and race yesterday (Saturday 11 May) at Lydden Hill. Is it that both championships are rubbish, or is there another reason?

I look forward to seeing some replies.

Nice one Peter!

Any idea how the snail endurance race went on the Sunday, it was a BARC meeting.

Simon, I believe there was only one entry and so the BRSCC cancelled the race beforehand.

Stephen, I think your right in saying the races were cancelled in advance.

Yes, the BRSCC did cancel both races in advance, but only a few days before. I would still like to hear from any competitors in either of these so called championships as to why nobody could be bothered to enter.

See my reply in marshalls forum. Other drivers complained about the high entry fees and I even mentioned it at the local A.G.M. back on April 4 !!!! I will let you work out who clubs A,B, and C are. Suffice to say 11 nicely turned out cars competed on Sunday including an ex-BTCC Vauxhall whose driver got "driver of the day" trophy and he looked well pleased on an otherwise sad day. I know this was nowhere near a full grid but there was good variety.
The 2CVs put on a terrific display with the leaders 3 abreast at times.
The single seaters had the sad loss of Ian Bax who suffered a stroke whilst I was chatting to him.

Rod,

I am so sorry to hear the sad news. Please pass my sincere wishes to his family when you next see them.

Stephen.

Will do. On a happier note Sue (my wife) managed to raise over £800 by running around Lydden on Sunday. Thanks to everyone for their generous support and the marshals plus officials who cheered and encouraged her. Thanks also to Pauline for letting us do it, cancer research will benefit from everyones effort.

Maybe you and Pauline should do a relay race at Brands????? Pick a high profile meeting and we promise not to show you a blue flag as Pauline overtakes you
