I'm glad Petter didn't win, and he said so himself too. A situation like that would not have been a good way to pick up your first WRC victory.

I noticed Tommi didn't make a fuss about "breaking a record" with the "win" he was gifted after the real winner was DQ'd.

Good of Solberg to make that statement; however the way things are going he may yet stand in victory circle.

What a comedy.

It is a bit of a shambles, but it HAS to happen. If drivers are not DQd for breaking the letter of the law then they will just push and push until the whole thing becomes a joke rather than a comedy.

Liz, I read the thread in the Champ car forum about Andretti's (?) car being too low after a race recently, the thread got quite heated as I recall! I would rather see firm action taken to discourage rule bending rather than small fines which the sponsors can easily afford. The sport will keep its integrity that way.

Me too. But it does seem a bit like a holiday weekend on the freeway this time. I hope Marcus Grunholm has low blood pressure -- I think he looked as if steam was about to come out of his ears during his interview!

Indeed, he was fuming and said he wanted to appeal. Peugeot wouldn't let him.

But ignorance is no excuse.

Exclusion for a flywheel 20 grammes too heavy is hard, 20 grammes is nothing! But I can forsee lots of this sort of thing coming our way.

Hey, don't worry, he's Finnish! I don't know how strong his Swedish roots are, though...

imull has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
the

flywheel was 20g too light. Although not much but it does help the responsivity of the engine. It lowers the mass that has to be accelerated when the driver tries to accelerate the engine and therefore the car...

Rules are the rules and Pug should have know better.
