Wow, didn't see that one coming!

You say it'll have Pipo Moteurs branding, but what is the donor V8... assuming it's not an all new design?

Great choice, Jim! 😁

Couple of WRC or WRX blocks on a common crank case?

Yep, he as much as said so in a previous post (derived from etc.).

As an Alfa 'nut' I was disappointed the V6 had been ditched, but suspect this is a very much better solution for endurance racing... and should sound better. 😉

It's a new engine Fred's always dreamed of building.
It will build on what he's done before.
Best!

The V8 bi-turbo engine fitted on Bentley Continental GT3 starts in Pipo Moteurs' workshop.

Yes. This new engine will be a bit different. The reason we're going
with 3.8 L is the shorter stroke reduces piston acceleration
and stresses the internals and the block less. Making 870 HP
at the crank for 30 hours is not easy.

Nice! Can't wait to hear it. 3.8L is a 'small' V8. I guess it doesn't matter much about the size in terms of weight since the rules want them to be over 200kg or something crazy.

The smaller size is good for our aero as body can be slimmer.

I thought the two choices were both V6, for best packaging?? Either way, fantastic news! Will we ever know the possible other choices? Maybe they will get picked up by other teams and fill out the grid a bit more

Our V8 is still very compact only 10CM longer than the Alfa V6 we started designing for.

https://autosprint.corrieredellospor...i_glickenhaus/

Glickenhaus theorem:

Race cars

Racing cars are not created from numbers or calculations, they are inspired by the beautiful things you see in your life.
They come from Michelangelo's David.
They are suggested from nights in Paris.
You conceive them the first time while you are speeding through Lower Manatthan on a Cigarette motorboat.
They flow while listening to a John Kennedy speech.
You feel them in the American anthem “The Star Spangled Banner“ performed by Jimi Hendrix.
You perceive them in Sergio Leone's "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly".
In the tremor that has the face of your newborn child.
In the return home of the daughter you thought you had lost.
Race cars are born from the texts of Bob Dylan.
From "Imagine" by John Lennon.
From the book "My terrible joys" by Enzo Ferrari.
They spring from the eyes of your one true love.
