MP4 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Stavelot, Blanchemont and the Bus Stop.

I'm debating with a friend about the run between Stavelot through Blanchemont to the Bus Stop. Is it uphill from top to bottom, or downhill? To put it another way, is Stavelot at a higher elevation than the Bus Stop, or is it the other way round? (is Blanchemont uphill or downhill?)

I walked it a couple of years ago, and in my oppinion the run through Blanchemont is basically flat. Although there is a slight rise on the run out of Stavelot.

Hmm,

I think the Bus stop is higher than Stavelot. Basically you climb from Blanchiment to La Source then its downhill to Eau Rouge. Then you climb alllllllllll the way up to Les Combes and the drop starts from there. I think the lowest part of the circuit is either Fanges or Stavelot with a slight incline to Blanchiment.

BTW. That's a long walk Jos.

Here is a map of the old layout of Spa with the height changes, it doesn't show the Bus Stop but you can work it out.

I have enlarged the run from Stavelot to La Source.

The map came out of the book "Starting Grid to Chequered Flag" by Paul Frere.

Remember the New Stavelot corner is part way along this leg of the old track, probably about the 345 mark.

Hmm,

That is interesting. If you look at one of the pics on my site you'll see that the run back from the Bus Stop is definitely downhill so it's either an optical illusion or they've regraded the area since the old circuit was used.
