DNQ should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Who is Darren Turner?

Hate to sound silly, but who the hell is Darren Turner? He was testing a McLaren-Mercedes at Silverstone yesterday according to crash.net

Quote:
Jarno Trulli topped the times today at Silverstone. The Jordan-Honda driver just edged out the McLaren-Mercedes of Darren Turner by a few hundredths of a second.

Darren Turner stood in for Wurz at Silverstone on Tuesday and Wednesday, when he chucked it in the gravel with some style.

From what I've heard another Mercedes DTM driver has been promissed a testdrive: Marcel Fäsller(after he won a race).

so don't be surprised if you see that name in the mac soon........

Darren Turner's link with McLaren stems from winning the McLaren/Autosport/BRDC Young Driver of the Year award in 1996 - this earned him his initial test drive.

I must remark Darren Turner often tests McLaren since 1998. Also he drove the first ever race of Formula 3000 Italia (now Euro F3000) in 1999 with Redgrave Racing, finished 7th.

Darren Turned raced in the Formula 3000 Italia Championship only in the first round at Vallelunga. He raced with the second car of Redgrave Racing (car number 14), with Mark Shaw as a teammate (in the car number 12). Darren finished 7th at that event. At that year the car was also raced by Marcelo Battistuzzi (who won with it at Monza) and Jean De Pourtales.
