Well you certainly excelled today Baub..... particularly love the (I think) Alta with twin rear wheels in #5147. I always thought the twin rear wheel setup was more a hillclimb thing, but it seems not.
I also, like Max, prefer the A/B/C MG's. My late Father had a C in the fifties, and my love of Motor racing and cars my Mother believes was a result of my being strapped in my carry cot to the boot rack, car hood down, Mum kneeling on the passenger seat facing to the rear also hanging on the the carry cot and being taken to Castle Combe to race meeting at 2 or 3 months of age. Fortunately they were living near Bristol, so local to Combe, at the time. |

In 1938 George Abecassis decided to experiment with a twin rear wheel set up on his Alta (the car in Bauble's picture I believe) for use on the sinuous Crystal Palace circuit and this time it caught on with competitors racing on the Crystal Palace and the Brooklands 'Mountain' circuits. |

Talking TA/B/C s and wheels it is interesting to look at the comparison between the original equipment 19" wheels and the more commonly used 16" or 18' round black things that became near standard wear here in Oz and most other places.
Had a TC in 1959 which suffered from being a pig in the wet, hard riding, and not suitable for courting. Invested in getting a set of 16"rims drilled and spoked to the hubs and fitted wuth 550x16 tyred. Better looking, rode and handled much better but didn't improve the courting comfort. Final disapointment was having to sell it to repay the loan fitting the wheels cost me. |

Love the #52 Delage with the low headlights, I guess because it is different.
Next batch is a spritely lot. |

Yes, I am intrigued by the Delage, certainly a pioneer of it's day. Can't wait to see what variety of cars you guys have in store today

I'm intrigued by the roll bar on the #4 which looks about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. One series I raced in mandated screens and hardtop if using a full cage, but having hung upside down in an MG Midget I can testify to their quality and wouldn't contemplate doing otherwise.

The Delage D15S8 was a great car and one of my favourites, winning all the major GP's in 1927 ensured its place in history. I look forward to hearing the Brooklands car running again, the 1500cc superchared straight 8 is a delight.
