They’re 385mm longer than the 1 series with a 161mm increase in wheelbase. They’ll be stable on the fast bits in comparison to the 1 series.
The big think they’ll struggle with is their first (and only?) test day is tomorrow... |

Bushell's seat last year was the cheapest on the grid, mainly down to Bushell taking over the engineering once they got rid of Geoff Kingston. I'd expect him to continue working on the CC as an engineer (not on race weekends, but certainly in between) this season. |

My predictions, may be totally wrong....
Title contenders Neal Cammish - 2nd year of the FK8 for Dynamics Sutton - even with the BMR problems this guy is class Plato - Really think he'll have the measure of the Astra Wins and podiums Turkington Jordan Oliphant - Not at first but I expect all 3 BMW's to be competitive towards mid season Ingram - Again struggle at first but expect a least a run of podiums if not a win by the season end Collard - Tempted to put Collard in the contenders part given now competitive I think the car will be. Plus some rivals have new cars that will need development. However Collards time out the car concerns me Morgan Tordoff - FK2 is fully developed and should get wins Simpson Chilton Moffat Points scorers Hill Rowbottom Smiley Cook - I think BTC might take a while to get the FK8 up to speed Butcher Thompson Goff - These two best of the HARD line up Proctor O Jackson Jelley - Just think we'll see a more consistent season from Jelley Struggles Smith Osborne Hamilton Blundell Crees Boardley |

some engines like the bmw and subaru are set up to deliver more power down low so they get the drive off the corners better. dont forget that the last three championships have all been won by some of the the slowest cars in top speed, which just underlines this point. |

Not convinced that we'll see any of the new cars struggle to start with. The components on the cars are tried, tested and understood. Not to mention that we've seen brand new cars hit the ground running many times before. I could see it from a team new to the championship but not existing ones with plenty of NGTC experience.

It all adds up - and the public perception follows, that "big" => "safe". So the cars get more steroidal, which makes them heavier, which means they need bigger/better impact protection, and we go round again. In my car (Mk3 MX-5) I often find I'm looking at the top of a wheel arch when a big family size bus pulls up next to me in a queue! |

We've got a Fiesta ST in our "stable" and I'm amazed at the size of it compared to the old Mk3 Escorts etc. Hardly any difference in size.

So RCIB are backing Goff and Boardley at Hard!
Must be a big RCIB presence on the grid this year once more... assuming they are still fully backing AmD (I believe Autoaid and RCIB are ultimately the same business) Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk |

I wonder if the PMR unveiling has been put back until tomorrow in light of the WSR unveiling.
That 3 series looks brilliant; nice to have a different shape on the grid! |

Polo's from the early 00s Mk4 have been bigger than the Mk2 Golf. Seem to have levelled off at Mk3 Golf size now for the last couple generations. |

Plus their motorcycle brand is backing the other hard cars I think. How can a relatively unknown company have so much presence?

That's the point though. The components are what makes the car. They all go through airflow tests to equalise them so the body basically just holds the subframes together which have the standard parts they are so used to. If it was all about data then the teams who have had the same car for the longest would be at the front. That isn't the case and of course we've seen many times a brand new car with hardly any testing running at the front right from the start.

It’s a good job WSR have got the car out just in time for the test. The car needs all the development it can get
