[VASC19R23R24] ITM Auckland SuperSprint Pukekohe Park Raceway NZ - 13-15 Sep
Supercars are packing their bags and heading over the pond for the annual New Zealand round at Pukekohe Park. A bit of a fan and driver favourite, drivers will once again be competing for the Jason Richards memorial trophy. Hard to pass up the two kiwi drivers within DJR Team Penske and fellow countryman SVG in the Red Bull HRT Commodore. Also a bit of a dark horse in Brad Jones Racing as these guys tend to go fairly well here and always competing with Jase's spirit alongside them.
Let's go racing, for JR! |

Unless Scotty Mac, meets a nice sheep, gets struck by lightning, his Mustang gets stolen by marauding savages, he will most likely be on the top step of the podium on one of the days.
Interesting if they could get a Kiwi 1, 2 & 3 on both days. |

Is it interesting that the only brand new Mustang built this year is the one smacking the field?

Money?
Technically the chassis is the same, regardless of the panels on it. You should be able to take Scotty's Mustang and convert it to a FGX or a ZB. Just for a bit of fun, perhaps they could swap Scotty and Fabs between the cars for a session. Yeah, Nah... |

The chassis design, as in the roll cage, is fixed under car of the future. Everything else can be unbolted (or spot welds unpicked) and changed as required. Old chassis are routinely stripped back to the bare spaceframe and rebuilt.
There is no advantage to having a new chassis, not like the old days where there was scope for developments and refinements with a new chassis build. Since the spaceframe design is fixed, it would be equivalent to strip and rebuild a well raced chassis with your latest running gear. |

So ostensibly WAU should have had a contingency plan in place. |
