Setting a bad time in timed practice can give one a very good result in the the first qualifying heat. See Marcus Grönholm at Höljes in 2008, it all resulted in his overall victory. Eventually helped by Kenneth Hansen in the A final for not demanding his "right of way" when the Finn came out of his Joker Lap… |

The Russians problem was caused by stupid driving pure and simple
The white car could ahve easily given room, but decided to drive into his coutryman thereby preventing him goping round him inot the next right hander. Simple penalty should suffice, nowt to do with joker runde |

Please guys, some hounesty.
Timur knew very well that Ildur was exiting the jokerlap, hence him running wide due to excessive speed and bumping into his compatriot. Ildurs reaction was equally agressive in the next corner. I do concur with the joker sceptisism, as it takes away the battle on the main track. But I can also see the advantages of not having a pile-up in the first corner. |

No Joker, no problem with going in and/or coming out for anyone, pure and simple.
From my point of view the Joker is no lesser danger than the "problems" it should solve. |

In no way anybody ever intended the jokerlap to be an excuse to intentionally and without punishment trash a competitor who comes out of the joker. |

I think you misunderstood his point. I guess he wanted to say that by demanding his right of way makes, according to the rules, nobody else but Ildur guilty for the resulting first accident. The rules are very clear: It is not up to the driver on the original track to take care about the driver doing the Joker, but the other way round!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ab2F_1JjcWQ (around the 4:00 mark) Or the seasonfinale between Pauwels and Coox? (You could rewatch that on rally-action). If those two situations are not a case of driving someone of the track intentionally, than what is??? Both times the verdict was clear: Pauwels was right and the others had to make way! |

The start of the whole mess with the russian guys was or is the Jokerlap in Nyirad. No matter what happend later or what somebody knew. So Ildur had to stop and see what Timor was doing. He stops also because he does not want to hit Ildur???
