Did you ever see a pic of Dutchman John Sieben’s big-block De Tomaso Pantera? That was really something!

Is this the one (Can't be too many Pantera's around )?

A bit more Exotica too, Ferrari (308?);

...and some not so exotic;

Morris Marina!!

Chrysler 180.
And a couple of shots of a Dolomite Sprint. Didn't Will Gollop use one of these, the engine ending up in the Saab?

JXC808D is the 'works' rallycross Rover 3500 usually driven I think by Geoff Mabbs around 1968/9- it later was rebuilt into one of the two prototype P6 racers that the BL Competitions Department commissioned just before they were closed down in 1970
http://www.roverp6.info/JXC808D.htm

It's been discussed on the historic forum a couple of times

No, "your" Pantera is a French one, AFAIK.
Yes, the RX Ferrari is a 308 GTB, pictured by my friend/counterpart Jacques Privat in 1982 in the Essay chicane (the French call it 'compression' nowadays). The name of the driver is Guy Chasseuil and I got a print by JP from that pic.

Norwegian Roy Hansen, Porsche 959 of sorts.
Is that a Porsche 924 or 944 behind it, under the awning...? Can't have been too many of those seen in rallycross?

rallycrosscraig has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
so is this where "Mabbs bank" at Lydden came from?
such a shame it was removed it used to make that corner so much more intimidating!!

A few from downunder in the 1970's
http://www.brock05.com/mrhdtgallery/giantkillers2.jpg
Another shot of the works Holden Torana GTR XU1 as above, this was built from one of the early prototype XU1 cars, (which are based on a Vauxhall Viva with a 3.3L 6cyl with triple Webers by this time). This particular car has a rear-mounted radiator as indicated by the scoops on the sides.

And another angle, of another car 2 years earlier (1970)

In the "other" camp were the big Falcons, this one has the "baby" 302 V8 because they were quite a bit lighter than the 351 used in other competition.

Quite a few more pics, including the ex-London-Sydney marathon Austin 1800, Porsche 911, Renault 10 & 16, Holden Monaro, Toranas & Mini here- http://www.autopics.com.au/cache/lis....html?cache=no

Not sure if this is the Turbo version, but I think it was the ex Dimi Mavropoulos car owned by Brian Betteridge when this picture was taken.

Was indeed the Betteridge car, one of teh cars that really got me into rallycross, was amazed to see this thing on an off road track/ Just look at that truck too, Brian's cars erally were immaculate.

Not sure if it is the ex Dimi car, but anyway, this and the Erling Jensen Rover were amazing sights in those days, not to mention the insane Welch Xtrac

LMAO!! You're doing ok when the dude in the yellow astra seems to be going backwards off the startline!! Look out marshalls!!!! I thought the No.20 car was a Renault Fuego when I first saw it. Think the Mazda guess may be more acurate?? But anyhow, three spokes, bright yellow, four doors? What was he/ she thinking?!!?!?!?
