MSVR meeting 24th March.
Just like to thank all involved for a good day/night meeting.
Some of the grids were a little small, but the racing was good, especially the Lotus-on-track races, should be a good series. Thanks to Rod Birley for making his second race more exciting by starting from the pit lane. Thanks to Bob and the guys on post 25 (ex post 1), even if we had very little to do, even though the start of the handicap lotus race nearly went pairshaped. Just one point to make about the new post 25, not a criticism. Now that you have the sensible "trench" leading towards post 2, there is a steep climb up to the gate (behind the old post 1) to use the facilities. Just wondered if it may be possible to cut or make some steps from the old post 1 up to the gate (or tie a rope to the fence!) as if could get a bit dodgy if wet. Thanks again, great to be back down the "Hatch", see you at the weekend. |

But wasn't it cold? Thank goodness I haven't got a brain, otherwise it would have been frozen. One of our main issues was: how do you call a gaggle of Lotus? Lotussessessess, or Lotusae? In the end we went for Lotae. And now trying to work out which one you are Q. |

Aah WFM I thought it was you on 25...but wasn't sure!
I was swanning about looking important! Thanks to the marshals that helped with my boys from the Sports and Saloons races who decided the gravelly bits were much more interesting than the tarmac! |

Had a laugh on post 6/5 nice to ease in ready for this coming weekend.
Good to see quite a few fresh looking overalls about. Had a good laugh with the photographers too (Jon, Derek and Michael?) which helped to pass the time when it got a little brisk. I actually had to put my jacket on when it wasn't raining which was a first. Normally I am too fat and dumb to get cold. Also special thanks to the Porsche driver who drove off whilst still attached to the D&G 4x4 car, pointing out why you never stand too close to a strop, Very close call for one recovery man and one marshal who pretty much got wrapped up like the strop was a bolus. Other than that moment of madness by a driver I had a fun day |

WFM...the handicap start procedure will certainly be reviewed, giving a 45-second start delay when the fastest flying lap was 52seconds was not the brightest idea!!!
The Lotus competitors, including several for which this was their first ever race meeting, have been very complimentary on the running of the meeting, particularly for those "on the ground". Well done guys'n'girls. |

I don't think that any of the first rank that set off were in the 52 second lap range Bryan.

Chezza, you mean you didn't recognise my good looks
Bryan, I wasn't so worried about the timings, it was just that one of the Lotae stalled on the grid and another pulled off on the inside before getting going again, and then stopping at the bus stop, causing some confusion for the marshals, who ended up on the inside of the track. Still, no damage done. Stephen, point taken. Hope to see all three of you on Saturday. Last edited by White flag man; 27 Mar 2007 at 12:36. |
