Not so! He did win one race, but was certainly not third in the championship. Lunger was in 1971 though, as you say.
Incidentally, the ex-Penske/Donohue ex-Lunger car was advertised for sale in the USA about ten years ago. Are you sure you've got the right one?

Apparently so, the guy had a heap of stories, log books etc, and a mate of mine when and photocopied them all- I'll see if he derived the same info from it I did.

Thanks for pulling me up on that

This is a long shot, but I don't suppose anyone has a bigger shot of that E-Type with the shark's teeth motif on the nose?

And is it Filbee or Loveday who drove it?

(1/43rd scale miniature in mind....)

Wish I had TimD! As a kid I loved that car - it looked great with the teeth -like a WWII fighter plane.
I remember the car was a bright orange and I'm sure it was Loveday. Fred or Racing fxgt - you got any of it?

Well not sure about happy days...That Lotus just 'whistled' when it went by, thank God it did not catch on. Otherwise no more V12 / V10 / V8 roars.

I too was at all three of the photo's but at different parts of the track. I do look back and ask what the hell happened to F1 as now all the cars are alike and little scope for the lateral thinker.
