i don’t think anyone was finally realising it but it’s off season, people are bored and it’s fun to put it down on paper, particularly since things are moving around so much in preparation for the new season

Correct as I understand it. The BTCC entry only ever came about as a "favour" when Motorbase where unable to run Alex Martins Dextra backed Focus. Parker never planned to enter BTCC. When Alex decided to go racing elsewhere SJ jumped into the seat and stayed for a good number of years (and after deciding the Focus wad not his bag bought the BMW off of WSR). The BMW was (possibly still is) SJ's. He may well have sold it on (possibly to #HARD) - so it may well appear on a racetrack in another series yet.

And of course they briefly joined with Maximum Motorsport in 2017, with a second car initially for Josh Cook, before Stewart Lines took over the car for the second half of the year

I wouldn’t say the MG was a better car that year than the Focus. Cook actually had some good performances and results in the Ford, then it all went wrong with the MG and his reputation took a serious dent when he got a race ban and then proceeded to get a 5th strike immediately after serving that ban!

My first thought here is that "Mega" is Blundell's nickname, and MB have been linked elsewhere with taking over Motorbase."Meaty" makes me think of Butcher, though this is clearly referring to another team here, which may suggest he will be moving teams next year. As you mentioned Speedworks in a later post, I'm wondering if what's being hinted at here is:


Butcher joining Ingram at Speedworks (both were title contenders this year).


MB taking over Motorbase with a lineup including former race winners Jake Hill & Ollie Jackson, almost certainly with Sam Osborne based on what has been said elsewhere (maybe Andy Neate as well if he is indeed back in a Ford).


Though I could get putting 2 + 2 together & getting 5.

Just noticed a BTCC FK2 Civic in Andrew Jordan’s workshop. Looks like Sam Osbourne’s car from 2020 to me. What could that mean?!?!?! AJ back in BTCC? I didn’t think we’d see him back so soon....could he be running the car himself do we think?

Jordan already has NGTC-12-003, which was is title winning car. The one he has posted about is NGTC-12-004 which was the other 2012 Pirtek car, last used by Sam Osbourne / MB Motorsport in 2020.

It's intact enough to make a show car, which is all that's needed. Doesn't matter if it won't ever race again since the is nowhere it sensible could race. Jordan isn't the sort of person to run in TCT, Britcar or some random club saloon series, and it's many years off being eligible for any HSCC category.
