Lister 1:54 vs Creation 1:44--looks like 10 secs to me.

Lister ran 15 laps on Sunday and 23 on Monday. This was after testing at Estoril where they would have been able to find some baseline setup. With the fresh engine on Monday, Jens should have been able to put in a reasonable time (below 1:50) after 10 laps or so even with a slightly wrong aero setup.

Additionally, why did they give up so early in the day. A driveshaft and floor repair could have got them out for the afternoon session. No something more is wrong. I hope they fix it soon but I cannot see it being competitive.

So if Creation get that second entry, who'll be in it? Obviously Jamie Campbell Walter gets one seat, but Is it fantasy to believe Zytek will team up with them to realize that Johnny Herbert / Guy Smith partnership?

They never ran a clean, trouble free lap, hence the times.

Why did they go home?

Because they'd already run many, many laps in the previous test.

Will reserve judgement on the Lister until after Spa - sincerely hope they get it together and are able to challenge the front runners (but i have my doubts).

Taking the Paul Ricard test days in isolation does distort the picture somewhat (much as it did last year, when based on that evidence the works Courage should have done considerably better). Looking at competitive performances by the Lister in LMS, Le Mans, and Sebring since 2003 - and accepting that it wasn't the team's sole or even primary focus, they were on average 6.69 seconds of the ultimate pace - which often in those years was a very well sorted Audi (or Bentley), and taking Le Mans out of the equation, the difference was 4.9 seconds. Okay, it's not going to be troubling the front of the grid at that sort of speed, and usually was the slowest of the LMP1s, but with the exception of Silverstone last year was comfortably within the 107% "rule".

I'm the first to put my hand up and say I'd rather they raced a bit more, and that I think going to Vallelunga rather than Istanbul last year was disappointing, but they've stepped up to enter the full LMS this time round, they've got an existing hybrid which does seem to have been a significant criteria for the ACO, and the LMP is now their priority. I'm more than happy to give them a chance this year and see what comes off.

IMO, the second Creation and Rollcentre cars should easily have got in ahead of the 2 newly added Porsches in GT2. We already had 6 Porkers on the original list. T2M only have an old generation RS, compare this to the 2 prototypes, that are new, and are showing a longer term commitment to ACO rules racing. And Del Bello, who were in LMP1 as recently as 2004 , have seemingly dropped from top to bottom class and still fullfilled all ACO criteria to get an entry. just my 2p worth, and all IMO ....

No-one from what i can see. Unless there's a real problem for a car at Istanbul / next 2 ALMS rounds / Test day. Its not like previous years where some real ****ters have been accepted into the initial list.

Much more likely that we'll have a JCW / NM / ANO partnership in one car and Gabbiani/Ortiz/ANO in the other. Given the Dyson drivers won't have anything to do that weekend what chance of a couple of them making the trip over?

Works Zytek - The car will be woefully short of testing miles.
JLOC Murcielago - Car will be slow and again untested.
AMECO - Because its a Saleen
One of the LMP2 Courages
Intersport - Whats the situation on Jon Fields pending courtcase?
The Lister - Is it going to be quick enough?

Whats the cut of date for reserves being called?

Zytek have certainly not done themselves any favors. I hope the car can be finished quickly and get some testing miles in before June.

There are ALWAYS drop-offs (remember last year when we had even the reserve list depleted) although I have to agree with most guys that this is a very strong AND committed list. My candidates for drop-offs are some of the Porsches, the Lister, maybe ACEMCO (although I certainly would not be happy!!!!) but I reckon we will have a maximum of 2-3 drop-offs this year...

I hope there is a least one drop-off as I want the second Creation to get in there. It may happen too late for them to commit as Le Mans is an integral part of any team's programme at this level. The grid looks exceptionally strong. I fear the Creation pro-car will not get a chance. A real shame.

Russian Age Racing / Cirtek changed to "Team Modena".

Will their second car, the 550, be replaced by a DBR9 as well? Think so, since they also announced a second Aston in LMS...

Some news today from Pescarolo : Henri has just decided to call back some very experienced pilots. René Arnoux, Jean-Pierre Jabouille and Patrick Tambay have been approached.
Very good choice indeed !

2 things,

Firstly there is no way the works Zytek will drop out

Secondly if Herbert/Smith is no go on the 2nd Creation, why not put Shimoda with NM and JC-W?

Just a thought.

You're assuming a lot of things here, starting with the idea that NM and JC-W will be the LM2006 lineup for Creation. Given where the money is coming from (Beppe and Filipe) I have a hunch there will not be a "pro" car from Creation this year unless Mike and Ian have some cash set aside for that express purpose. It's sad, that thought.

Secondly, you're assuming there is that kind of relationship between Zytek and Creation, which seems to be a stretch. Their car was purchased before the car became a Zytek, and since then they've twice changed the engine and now gone a totally different route with hybridization. The car isn't even called a Zytek, why would Zytek place "their" driver in it? Surely they would have to, unless Creation has the cash and desire to secure Hyanari's services for LM.

I wish there was a way we could've seen Herbert and Smith in the 2nd Zytek, and the 2nd Creation could get an entry, but we don't get everything we want. I still see a slim chance Creation will get in...maybe T2M will drop out? Only wishing, but what have they EVER done to deserve to be there?
