Looks like Sly has completed the casting for the major players in the movie. Now the problem is casting for the rest of the field. Due to the fact that none of the drivers belong to the Screen Actors Guild Sly will have to look elsewhere for people to play the drivers. According to the local Hollywood gossip column in the Albany Times-Union here is the list of actors and who they will be playing:

Arnold as Tracy, inspired.
I'd have to give the Castro-Neves role to Roberto Benigni. Helio's after race performance in Detroit WAS Roberto's Oscar acceptance performance. |

That guy is way too skinny to be My Gil. And you need someone more enigmatic and less bouncy.
Otherwise I can't comment as I don't recognize more than about six of the names in that list. And those are the pilotes. |

Why would Jackie Chan play Shinji Nakano. Shinji is Japanese Jackie is Chinese. Just like on Canninball run when Jackie was meant to be Chinese IT dosn't work.
Brad pitt plays Jimmy Vasser Edward Norton = Kenny BRack Antinio BAnderas = Helio Robert De niro = Max Papis Adrain Fernandez = Ricky Martin And many more that I am thinking about |

As long as the cast of "Seinfeld" has some free time -
Michael Richard (Kramer) as Tony George Jason Alexander (George) as Chip Ganassi - and I think Rowan Atkinson's acting talents would be better utilised playing the late lamented Andrew Craig. |
