Friday afternoon Qualifying Session 2 Starts in 2 minutes
Pit Exit NOW OPEN! Car #88 - Simonsen still worrying about tyres - told by pit crew that he has 2 fresh sets for this session and to stop worrying.  Car #8 - Richards / McConkers had a bit of a moment up into the Cutting - directed to adjust brake bias and to take it easy the next 2 laps. Car #51 - Murphy directed to let the field go past that are currently on the back straight, and then directed to unleash it. Car #34 - Ritter disappointed with car in general - not getting enough out of it. Car #7 - Kelly / Kelly just got quickest lap and currently P1 with 20 minutes to go - but complaining of a lot of understeer. Car #39 - Ingall / Kelly - Car handling like a broke legged dog on novacaine apparently .. coming in for fresh tyres. Car #888 was fastest to the 3rd sector where they just lost 3/10ths - coming in to discuss data soon. Car #51 - Murphy cannot explain the loss of speed up the mountain .. he is wringing it out as much as he can - advised he is losing too much time up Mountain Straight, and 19th in last sector - 2nd quickest across the top. Car #34 - Ritter - Asked Team to compare his previous 2.07.7 to his current times to compare entry speed into Cutting. Advised he is just about on par with those times. Car #18 - Luff now into 9th - car handling really well according to Luff. Car #51 - Has now reverted to pre 2nd session setting configuration - Murphy asked by Team to give feedback and if he wants a new green set of tyres. P1 currently is 2.07.669 set by C Lowndes ... and it's all over for Friday qualifying! Last edited by sweetchuk; 9 Oct 2009 at 04:37. |

Jason Richards never ceases to amaze me... he's proven he can qualify the car as well as anybody. It's just when the heats on... he still hasn't shown (IMO) that he's as good a racer as he is a qualifier. Can he finally hold it together over the journey?
