Forda should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
If a WAU to BMW deal ever did happen, it wouldn't be the first time a former Holden factory team switched to BMW post their association ending; and running Mobil backed M3's would draw the same parallels.

Perhaps this element was also factored into the creation of the article.

Toyota still clearly believes in showcasing their products in Motorsport. The 86 series is their window for the customer to see the same car you can buy at the dealer running around the big name race tracks of the series.

Not much of a smoke screen if it’s in the public eye as it is now...BMW liking Chaz and Andretti having links with BMW does not a Supercar programme make. It’s a nice game of join the dots and hope something comes of it but don’t hold your breath.

Showed chinks in his armor, flat spot at Bathurst could have cost them the race. Safest bet is a guy one year out of the seat.

Looks like the 888 co-drivers have caused a seismic shift it the expectations of co-drivers. Before they were expected to be a safe pair of hands close to the pace of the other co-drivers.

Now the market has shifted to it being about race craft and outright pace.

There are limited numbers of fast ex-drivers, but the super 2 field will need to expand to provide more drivers at the pointy end.

Is what I'm about to say going to help this discussion? Probably not.

But anyway...

In the BTCC, there is a manufacturer BMW team. They run the new 3-Series and before that the 1-Series. The cars are not developed in Munich, but by West Surrey Racing in the UK. So an official BMW-backed team with cars developed outside of Germany is possible.

However, even though a 'crate' (TOCA-spec) engine is available and many other teams run it, the BMW squad use a BMW-based race engine.

Both. Biggest thing is the fact that Premat was not available for bulk of the co-driver practice sessions and test days through out the season

He is also not really racing anywhere anymore, so he was showing a lack of sharpness in the enduro cup this year.

Kelly Racing developing their own Ford engine - why? Is it simply trying to keep people employed, or do they think they can do a better job than, say, Mostech?

Several years ago the head of BMW Motorsport came out and said he would not consider V8 Supercars unless he can run a BMW engine that showcases BMW technology (I.e. not limited to 7500 RPM N/A V8)

I could only see them returning with a turbo straight 6, or the DTM spec engine wound up a bit.

DJR Team Penske has an exclusive right to use Mostech Engines meaning they can't supply any other team in the main game. While Tickford wanted to much $$$ so they decided to build their own.
