No Zytek in P1, and the RS Spyder gone for this round in P2? Or just not officially entered yet?

No Cytosport Spyder. Not sure about Corsa and the GZ09-SH yet.

Got an e-mail from Steve Pruitt saying they need to use this time as a testing run-up to the far more important PLM event. As far as I know the vibration issue, and electrical motor slowing down the overall drive were two big issues at Elkhart that seriously need solving.

As for Cytosport, I don't know why they aren't at Mosport. Probably further testing is needed. The team made it out for the Queen Victoria Day Weekend Speedfest Trans-Am event and Klaus Graf put a serious spanking on the predominantly amateur field, leading me to believe Mosport is one of the tracks that separates the boys from the men. I guess that was a long drawn out way of saying they should have no issue getting across the border, so that cuts down one reason.

That is really too bad. I like them for how they shake up the field.

I heard that the chassis is getting a total rebuild , for PLM , ACO spec is what I heard .

Is there not an auto invite for Le Mans for catagory PLM winners or is that just for championship winners ?

I notice Seth Nieman has stepped out of the #44 for this race, probably for saftey reasons, as we cant have a car slower than the Challenge cars running around at Mosport.

And Dirk Werner is back at Farnbacher Loles at long last.

Actually Werner is scheduled to do both the Grand Am and ALMS races this weekend as both series are north of the border in Canada and one is on Saturday and the other on Sunday. Grand Am is in Montreal while ALMS is at Mosport.

I think after the fun Dirk and I had at his tech talk last year he just couldn't forgo the opportunity to come back to Mosport! Haha, seriously though. Most real racing drivers don't turn down the opportunity to drive at Mosport, even if they have a championship to win elsewhere. Hopefully Dirk will kick start that team and car into a good result! Perhaps two wins in one weekend?

I'm 50 minutes late to edit, so I post away (sorry). Will the addition of Johannes van Overbeek to the 44 car push it up the GT2 order this weekend?

Anyone know the lap record? I think it was Dindo in qualifying last year 136+mph average. On TrackPedia they said 1:06.236 or somesuch, and I don't know if that is accurate. The ARX-02a apparently is in the mid-05's already.

Last year the R10 qualified @ 1.04.094.

Sounds like qualifying will be on the web tomorrow.

Indeed it will be. As I understand it, all SPEED broadcasts feature internet qualifying. I'm glad the series is at my home track. (Co-home-track with Sebring of course.)

Expect to see 430(s) in ALMS next year. No 458 until testing late in '10. Not much else. 87 is fast, good driver duo; 44 is fast, good driver duo - more competition for the front end of the grid.
