Bathurst Programs

I was wondering how many people on this forum collect the official Bathurst 1000 Program each year?

I have only been buying them new since 93, but I buy any that I can find second hand, but they are fairly rare

Anyway, lets share our collections

I'll start. I have currently got.............

1983 James Hardie 1000
1986 James Hardie 1000
1989 Tooheys 1000
1991 Tooheys 1000
1992 Tooheys 1000
1993 Tooheys 1000
1994 Tooheys 1000
1995 Tooheys 1000
1996 AMP 1000
1997 AMP 1000
1997 Primus 1000
1998 AMP 1000
1998 FAI 1000
1999 Bob Jane T-Marts Bathurst 500
1999 FAI 1000
2000 FAI 1000
2001 V8Supercar 1000
2002 Bob Jane T-Marts 1000
2003 Bob Jane T-Marts 1000

I also have doubles of....

1989 Tooheys 1000
1992 Tooheys 1000
1993 Tooheys 1000
1996 AMP 1000

If anyone else wants to swap one of their doubles for one of those four I would be interested. It is a long shot I know, but what the heck!

I started buying it in '85 and gave up a few years later. I have also bought the last two; well I had to, my name is in them.

I have a very dog-eared copy of the 1974 program that some feral 10 year-old has written all over.

Hang on a minute. That's my writing!!!!!!!!!!

Addition, I have the 1979 program floating around somewhere as well.

I've got everyone programe since about '73 on, but we have just moved, so they are packed away in a box somewhere. I may have doubles, but I'll have to check. 73 was my first year to the mount, so it all started from there.

Dug up that old '74 program last night and it makes for interesting reading.

Cover price was only 80c.
First prize money a whopping $8000.
Full of cigarette ads including Hoges' Anyhow have a Winfield...
Has articles by Will Hagon and Howard Marsden and a priceless quote from one Allan Moffat.

"The first time I came to Bathurst in 1969 they took me for a drive up a winding country road to a hill called Skyline. The view was spectacular but I was eager to get down to business so I said 'OK, now where's the race circuit?'Bathurst is a bloody scary place..."

I have 1978 and every year since 1980, including the 1980 program signed by many of the drivers of the time (Thanks Archie).

What about Castrol Grid Cards, does anyone have a collection?

If anyone has programmes pre-1964 or a really good memory(!) I am looking for car colours of various entries. I make and sell Code 3 Bathurst and PI cars in 1:43 and although I can find B&W pics, I am having trouble with base colours. I was hoping the programmes would identify them?
