Andy, do I remember correctly that last year the Sevens had their own race with CSCC at Spa? Was the turnout insufficient to continue that? |

The European 7 series, run by McMillan Motorsport do run at Spa, but they run to specific eligibility criteria and don't want the "7esque Libre" contingent from CSCC infecting them (and winning!). A shame really as that could be a very impressive grid. |

So there’s 2 CSCC races, one (Inter Series) that includes Magnificent 7s and another that doesn’t. What is eligible for the latter?

Thanks Mike and Peter for the clarification. I was trying desperately to remember whether Mike had a Lanchester race car!!!!
Anyway, yes, Richard M has a choice of the CSCC Inter Series Race or the Ardennes Challenge in his Alfa 75. Unless he builds one of his Giulias in to a race car...,which, of course, he should!!! |

Andy, can you imagine an entry list with a special dédicace to tenthers? I'd love to read, Delta, Dinger, Lanky, Terry, Midge, MGDave', Viva, Andy and… Mohammed! A Spa, des pilotes qui ont la frite!

The 360mrc 6 hour race at Snetterton was badically a race set up by trnthers and raced in by tenthers, but sadly it was not well supported.

Despite all those saying "yes, we'll do it" etc etc. Still, the upside of it gave me something to do. Negotiating circuit hire fee's, dates etc. Then of course safety car duties in due course. Didn't have access to a suitable race car then.

Me too, but with respect it's a bit off the Spa Ardennes Challenge topic.
I have entered the Challenge for 10 years now and it's been running for at least 15, despite someone's post of FB yesterday announcing that it's a new race!. It has run to several configurations, 1hr, 1 1/2 hrs and more recently 2 x 40 mins races over 2 days - that seems to suit most entrants. The Challenge attracts an eclectic grid, it's great value for money and any dedicated clubman racer considering it should just get their entries in and give it a try. |

I am just teasing. You know i love the 9S. Just cant affird one. As i have said, i have no wish to race in a mixed grid, but some do, and not all Caterhams are modern. Restrict to h patten boxes, pre Signa/ Duratec and original induction and you have cars the same technology as others on the grid, but as slippery as a brick. It just seems odd that one particular car is excluded when it could comply with the regs to the same extent as others that are allowed. |

I had a chat to CSCC and they very graciously said they would let me in to their Interseries race. The 2 race per year rule does apply but as I had raced with them before (albeit many years ago) and therefore, they knew my driving standards were up to scratch, they would look favourably on me doing Spa if I could perhaps do another round too? So its either CSCC or Ardennes.....we will have to toss a coin! Either way, boat and tunnel booked, Spa here we come.

We're still working on the Bertone to enter the Ardennes if acceptable but what is weird for a car from here is to be fully compliant with no HTP! Unless many of our "friends"… Wont be competitive with Falkens but we have many on the shelf.

Had an email the other day from Equipe Classic Racing announcing that they will have a grid(s?) at the Summer Classic:
"We have confirmed two races at Spa as part of the Spa Summer Classic weekend on June 29/30. Although we are obviously sorry to see the Silverstone GP circuit go, Spa is a tremendous circuit and this is a great opportunity for us. We will have a 30-minute qualifying and two 40-minute put stop races on this most iconic of tracks for 750 Euros All entries will be accepted." Not entirely clear yet if this is for GTS, Pre '63, or both combined, but have asked for clarification. |

Thanks Sam. The races are presumably to replace those at cancelled MGLive?
