dan wheldon......
what are peoples opinion of dan, he has had a fair bit of success in the US and last week won his 1st indy lights race and is 3rd in points
 1999 : US formula ford champion 2000 : 2nd toyota atlantics dan drives for pacwest in the lights series, i think he should drive for them in cart next year, replacing mauricio gugelmin who has been totally outclassed by scotty dixon

not sure about dan as yet ..he was very impressive in Atlantics last year and this year has moved into lites ..he has struggled a fair bit but it is his first year..he is an impressive driver to say the least but i think another year in lites (or whatever class they will have below CART) next year and then try the big league.
I guess it has been hard for him as a rookie moving into the championship winning car of Scott Dixon..but now he has won his first race then he may well have broken his duck and be on the move from now on. |

I wish him every success, buit he isn't anything outstanding IMO. When he raced in the UK he was always competitive without being the class of the field. It so difficult to tell as you'd have said the same thing about Nigel Mansell 23 years ago....

He was the first one of Indy Lights who I took a picture of in Toronto last July, he seemed like a very good driver. what will he be doing in 2002 ?

 Dan is a great lad, he was always a great racing driver. I raced him in Junior Britain karts a few times, he was a demon then i believe he will go far in America!! Good Luck to him!!!! Farc |

Dan Wheldon is good. He has got me back into Indy Lights. I followed him in Formula Ford.
I hope he gets a Champ Car seat next year. |

Dan's an excellent driver and a nice lad. I followed him in FF in '98 when he raced against Button and he gave him a good run in a **** box of a car. I hope he does well in the US, he's worked hard to get where he has.
