**** that looks great, and more like period livery than most.

I believe the car builder owns it?

A couple of the ute racers getting into the category. Should be good for racing, and presumably panel beaters.

What's the previous team leader from Wilson up to now?

Might we see a court case?

Ryan Hansfords new Torana looks like a sports sedan. The flares on the front guards look like they have had the Texeco Sierra treatment from 1987. That is not how they came out of the factory as a L34 or A9X. This class is becoming a joke. At least make it look right.

The flares are much higher on the car than stock, the ride height if very low. But then the previous car had massively pumped/flared standard guards to fit the allowed width wheels under it - part of the process to equalise the cars.

One of those things where they say "we need to do it this way" while sneaking some advantages along the way. I'd compare it to BMW trying to get the M8 GTE homologated with a very low ride height (didn't work), or Ford pushing the nose of the Mustang Supercar down (did work).

But while I have reconciled to TCM doing all sorts of things 'wrong' in the name of expediency (eg Chev motors in Toranas), I do agree: at least make it look right!

The TCM cars are logbooked as Sports Sedans. It's not a Group N or a historic category.

I hadn't noticed the front flares until you mentioned it, but the rear flares didn't look right on TV last night either, looked too roundy, almost like MK1 Escort bubble flares.

Where are all the XD Flacons that were being built to debut in the early rounds of last season???? The Zukanovic car looked pretty plain on TV last night…….

On that note, it seems strange to see the XD without flares even if they don't really need them for 8" wheels. Seems the Torana doesn't on the rear either.

Just watched the Friday Trophy race - the other multispares car with identical livery has the same guards as Hansford's. The second team car was racing with 2 other toranas ( Bowe and Jim Policina ), and it was clear as day that the multispares car/s have something going on, especially with the rear flares. The back lower part of the rear flares sticks out a lot more than all the other Toranas. The fronts didn't look too different looking down the side of the cars, but hard to tell side on when they are all black. But can see in the pic above the whole wheel arch has been raised.

Here is my post #341 from June 2018:

"Look at the attached TCM home page.

http://www.touringcarmasters.com.au/

On the right is the Leaderboard, which appears to be up to date

Then below that press "View all results"

See what you get..... "

It is a shame they can't be bothered updating it.

SO would you think its a wise thing for Junior to move over into the XD from a proven winner with his current car? I know about history etc etc but the current car would be hard to give up on that basis or is its whats under the bonnet that matters ???

The Camaro got closer to him at times over the weekend

He was only going 7/10ths most of the time.

TCM has its own parity measures.

What's under the bonnet of the Mustang will probably be transferred straight to the XD. Plus the Mustang and XD share very similar suspension architecture. Given the delays in getting it on track, they're probably happy to wait and make sure it's right.

thought as much, would be a shame to bed a mustang for an XD and NOT be so competitive

The Mustang is running a Windsor engine. Won't the XD have to run a Cleveland.

The shape of the flares is one thing, but the #6 car rides much lower at the rear than all the other Toranas - picture posted earlier shows this. I wonder how they do that when you are not allowed to alter the rear chassis rails for clearance in this regard?

Given Toranas are running Chev engines I wouldn't think so. They could even run the "TCM" engine, ie an LS Chev.

I think majority are running Windsor based Dart blocks these days. Even in the Falcons. Same same but different...........

308 red motor blocks that aren't 60 thou over or knackered are like unicorns these days.

If Steven Johnson was as hopeless as this forum painted him out to be, why is he consistently cleaning up so much in this category?
Seems quite strange?
