Personal Battles.....

02 looks like it could be the best season for quite awhile, with quite a few drivers swapping teams and drivers fighting for supremacy within those teams!

so i thought it would be interesting to see who thinks which driver/team will win these battles:-

williams.............jpm or ralf
mclaren..............dc or kimi
renault..............trulli or jenson
sauber...............heidfeld or massa
jordan...............fisi or taku

honda................jordan or bar
ford.................jag or arrows (hardest 1 of all to foresee i think!!)

The battle in the Williams camp will be purely psychological, and if I'm right, then JPM will win easily, as Ralf appears to not keep his head if the pressure is on. Many are tipping JPM to be a consistent challenger next year, and I am inclinced to agree..... to an extent.

McLaren will be led by DC (for the first and only time) but it will be interesting to see the gap to Kimi. If he is the brilliant driver he led us to believe this year, then he will be challenging for wins sooner rather than later. And I don't see DC at McLaren after this year.

Renault should be interesting, knowing the history of collisions between Trulli and Button. Trulli will whoop his butt in qualifying 17-0, as Trulli is qualifying king at the moment, but if Button manages to get his head straight for this season, then it should be quite a duel.

Sauber = Heidfeld domination.

Jordan = Fisichella domination.

As for Ford, if Jaguar are even remotely threatened by Arrows, then they should shut up shop immediately and leave F1 and go back to supplying engines through the Ford name.

williams.............Ralf - But it will be close, Ralf lost focus at the end of the year and dropped the ball.

mclaren..............Kimi - I do not rate DC
renault..............Trulli - As Flav does not like Button so Button is swimming upstream.
sauber...............heidfeld has the experiance
jordan...............fisi Experianced and a fantasic driver

honda................jordan Bar is in upheaval at the moment and Jacques will leave very soon.
ford.................arrows - they should have a better chasis than Jaguar.

Williams- I think Montoya will be the lead man, the scoreline betweenhe two flattered Ralf last year.
Sauber- Hard to tell as Massa could be superb, but I think Nick will have the edge
Renault- Depends on whether Jenson wants to be a racing hero or a nightclub kid, he has the ability but has to apply himself. Trulli is underrated in my opinion though, so let's see
McLaren- Ought to be DC, but I think Kimi will show him up as being second rate.
Jordan- I don't think Sato is as good as his results suggest, he had an equipment advantage at Carlin in F3, and Fisichella really deserves a strong seat to show his talent.

GasMan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I think with the Williams battle Ralf has shown us what he is truly like. On numerous occassions now he's effectively spit the dummy out of the pram while Montoya has been relatively cool. Although, having said that, Montoya has pushed the car way past its limits and ended up coasting in after blowing an engine or similar.

I think Coulthard might be a little lax in terms of expecting what his teammate is capable of. Personally I became a solid fan of Raikonnens last year and I hope he'll be up there from the beginning of the season. New team for Kimi though so it might take a few races for him to get into the rhythm to be up at speed.

Quite fond of Button because he's brought something fresh to the sport that was a little stale a year or so ago. As mentioned, if he gets his head on straight then he'll be in the points a couple of times at least. With a hard season behind him he should know where he lies in terms of his own ability now.

I reckon BAR will win out over Jordan. No reason other than gradual improvement albeit in small steps over the last few seasons.

Sure will be interesting to see how it plays out though.

I think thats a good decision, as well as Fisi people seem to be underestimating Massa, and Sato seems to be "just a bit" overrated. Anyone agree?

Irvine is definitely the second best driver on the grid. We have it on good authority - Eddie said so.

williams.............jpm, but Ralf will do a decent job
mclaren..............kimi, but dc will out score. By the end of the season it will be getting the other way round
renault..............trulli, easily.
sauber...............heidfeld, but I don't think Massa will be bad
jordan...............fisi, but Sato will be good.
ford..............i hope it's arrows and Jag do "shut up shop". Maybe then they can go back to sportscar.

Williams: I think it will be close. Though I rate Montoysa very highly, Ralfie is no slouch. If RS can keep his wits about him and not get rattled, it will be close. If JPM gets under his skin, Ralf's season will suffer. I think RS' will stand up to it. Slight advantage Montoya.

Macaroon: DC all the way. Raikkonen's rookie season was low stress compared to what's in store chez Dennis at the sharp end of the grid. Kimi will have to fight for position. The first time he waves TGF throughm Ron will spank him with a hairbrush. Coulthard will put to rest the criticism It appalls me that this talented and likable driver cannot get a fair shake.

Renault: Trulli lacks stamina, Bunsen lacks common sense, Flavio lacks a soul. Despite the hype, they ain't goin' nowhere.

Sauber: Heidfeld will be WDC one day. quick, intelligent, analytical and focused (and he wieghs 78-82 pounds allowing loads of car-balancing ballast. ) Massa will not shine as Raikkonen did as a Rookie.

Jordan: Fisi will dominate the first of three seasons at Jordan, at the end of his contract, he'll have accomplished nothing and he'll be too old for the big three. A great talent that never got the right break. Its too bad. Sato will be impressive, Fisi will beat him though.

Honda: Jordan again. Two very talented drivers will fade away strapped to a BAR.

Ford: If its HHF and Jos at Arrows, watch out Jaguar.

Jaguar: Lauda, you arrogant tyranical &*%^$#@. You wanted Eddie, you're stuck with him. Maybe you'll actually notice how good the other guy in green is.
