Right, that's a media article that appears to be very incorrect. Not a press release from MSNZ. It contains the same release I referred to above and says nothing like the reporter says.
What you have said is in the msnz release was actually said by Mark Petch.

I am aware of that, was illustrating where that date and impression came from. Perhaps you would like to accuse the reporter of being a liar if it makes you happy?

Southern Man should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
For those who do not what is involved in becoming a sanctioned series, here is a link to the template for the series articles. The technical regulations are covered in by a different templete

What are you going on about? After your post I re-read the MNZ press release and saw that it didn't mention the Feb 15th meeting, but there is a meeting on that date and it the general impression was that the ST's would get ratification by that date.

I wanted therefore to find out where that impression came from, so I did some searching and found the Speedcafe article, which stated that it was said by Mark Petch (who we have to assume was actually at the meeting). So I was attempting to be helpful by putting it up here, however it simply seems to have confused some posters.

Sorry Goat boy but if you read what MSNZ actually said, MSNZ not Mark Petch or a reporter, there is absolutely nothing there to suggest anything like what you are saying. I'm not interested in toing and froing on this, it's laid out quite clearly in what you yourself have posted.
The impression you are talking about has come from Mark Petch and the media.

It's quite important things people read are quoted properly otherwise incorrect stories get promoted as fact.
Fact is MSNZ have never said anything officially about doing anything by this weekend about Supertourers being sacntioned or running at Puke. In fact what they have said, along with Greg Lancaster is the plan/hope is for unification to happen for the 2014 season.

My postings were in relation to this comment:

Which it appears you have made in error.
You also seem to have problems in quoting posts correctly

Can we put the hand bags away once and for all now?? Mine is getting worn out.

Woolley, In the interests of maybe trying to keep these threads cleaner from now, maybe it would be a good idea to out the people you have referred to as having simultaneous dual accounts that they use to carry out a lot of the rubbish you have spent so much time in dealing with.
By allowing them to keep those accounts you are allowing the very things you have complained about.
Quite keen to hear others thoughts of people using two accounts to carry on the trash.

Maybe you need to refer to Crunch's post at #1271. Crunch is a Vice President of MSNZ. The post said :

Some of us a still working hard to get the sanctioning of V8ST done before the first round.

Yes I know, that is what I was saying, is that I thought it was in the MSNZ press release but it wasn't so I wanted to find out where it was that I actually saw it. I thought I'd put it up so that others could see it too.

Actually Shaun Summerfield has confirmed that he asked Brian Budd if they had put forward ST as a support category for the V8SC in April, he confirmed to Shaun yes.

Are you now stating that Shaun is lying?

I think maybe things are very black and white for Warwick. If it won't stand up in court as evidence then it can't possibly be true

Since when does "we hope to" from an individual translate as an offical "we will definitely" from MSNZ?

If that's how you interpret things daily then the world must be full of disappointment for you.

Soooo...Im confused...its not true because no one has posted a press release to satisfy you....but Shaun is not lying either.....so the only logical conclusion is that you are saying Brian Budd is lying?

It is referred to as a Statement of Intent. If it can be proven later that there was never any intention to do so, it can lead to legal recourse. Just saying.

This line of posting came about because someone said MSNZ released an official statement saying something. It has been established that was not correct and they did no such thing.
It was shown that the confusion arouse from quotes in speedcafe by Mark Petch.

One or two members saying they hope to (please let me know if you need the meaning of that word looked up for you) is certaintly not equal to an offical statement making a declaration or promise.
If you still fail to understand then sorry I can't help you any further.

Now can both of you please go back a couple of pages and reread woolys post.

I should have noted that some posters manage to be concise, informative and polite throughout and I'm pleased to acknowledge their input. There are clearly issues to be debated and settled.

Others simply want to make trouble and are behaving appallingly. I think the phrase is 'bringing the sport into disrepute'.
Which bit of the above post were you referring to??

Like I said, Warwick likes to have incontravertible truth (i.e. photos, recorded phone conversations or official press statements) before he believes ANYTHING! Otherwise you just don't know what sort of trouble you might get into... :P

Yes indeed, however people are often convicted in a court of law on somewhat less than photographic evidence or recorded conversations
