a bit better race 2 . but still . the circuit isn't really suited for sprint races like in WTCC

back to BTCC ..
i'll be back a bit later

Race 2 was indeed better (like in most cases), but I prefer the smaller circuits.

Good race...keeps the championship nice and close, Dirk scoring the most of the top contenders surprisingly!

And another podium for Alex!

Congratulations Zanardi, you are a real racer.

EDIT: Boring races, Istambul isn´t a track for WTCC.

I guess I should have known better to think that the Alfa-drivers were allowed to race eachother...

The win in race two belonged to Farfus - rather pathetic by the team boss to order him to let Tarquini by (which was rather obvious that it was the case).

Bernard Bram has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Alfa is a joke. First Giovanardis move, then team orders for nothing. Has Tarquini anything to gain in the championship anymore? I can understand team orders in Giovanardis favour, but for the rest? Stupid.

Sorry, don't buy that. I think Tarquini just didn't expect Farfus to even try, and he took him by surprise.

Alfa's don't race each other, it's all old-school Ferrari F1 style showboatism when they're together.

"Old school" - why? Do Ferraris race each other today?
Anyway, team tactics are one thing but with this many Alfas from the same team (!) out there, they can stifle the whole race if Miss Monica thinks that's how it should be.

There are as many works-supported BMWs out there as well, but at least they run for different teams so they don't automatically fall in line and follow their leader.

he's 22 points behind the leader . so he can still win it .
4 points between top 3 . it's gonna go down to Macau for sure
and only 15 points advantage for BMW

regarding team orders . you're kidding yourself if u ever though they are gonna race each other anymore . they did plenty of that last year . i can't even remember how many times they took each other out .. i don;t need that anymore
regarding Giovanardi's move .. it came from a long way behind . but it wasnt' delibarate racing incident . nothing too harsh IMHO .. and he did get passed Zanardi cleanly in the same move . just that Garcia was on the outside of Alex too . it happends .

it would be nice to get more works team running Alfas .. but it's unlikely it will ever happen .. Alfa Romeo doesn't have the money ..
did Alfa in the last 15 years run more than 1 works team in a Championship ??

I tried to overtake Zanardi and did not see GarcÃ*a. The braking was very difficult with three cars entering the corner and I just touched Antonio (GarcÃ*a) but I think it was a normal race incident
I'd hate to 'just touch' Gio on the road! My car would be a wreck.

GR Asia have lost the lead in the independants team trophy to Proteam. Good work by both Ciro & d'Aste today. Coronel & that Turkish guy with the really difficult to remember name were nowhere. Coronel's chances of taking another independant crown took a big hit with the no score today.

Despite JT's confusing comments in the interview, Alfa took maximum points in both rounds today (as points are only awarded to the top two cars) and closed up 14pts on BMW.

How about letting that Giudici guy run it? He's quite a passionate Alfa fan? The same guy who Alfa blocked from building a DTM spec Alfa 159?
