LMES on Channel 4 (uk)

There is a program on channel 4 sat morn (26.9) 7.55am I have read on club arnarge that it is a 4 parter following the Veloqux team thru the 03 and 04 season, I have looked in the listing guide but the explanation given there is very hazy.

This is from Alan McNish's Website,

"The UK terrestrial TV Channel Four has been following Allan’s sportscar team, Audi Sport UK Team Veloqx, over the last few months. The documentary, a series of five episodes, will be aired on Channel Four over the next five weeks.

Channel Four’s TV crew has followed Allan and the team through the ups and downs of a hectic and demanding season, starting in Sebring, Florida and concluding with the dramatic, fiery but ultimately successful finale at Spa Francorchamps in the Belgian Ardennes.

The series will start this Sunday 26th September at 8am and will be broadcast at 8am for the first two episodes and 8.30am for the remaining three. There will also be a repeat screening on the Friday following each programme.

Look out for action, insight and interviews from Allan and his Audi team mates"

Mods - if there is an issue with me pasting this directly in please remove itm but as is bascically promoting the programme I cant see an issue.

Hey, watched the 1st installment yesterday. Pretty good overall. It's a shame we have to wait so long for the rest of them...

I'm surprised Ch4 is doing it instead of ITV1 though due to their Speed Sunday Le Mans Special earlier on this year.

BTW for those who watched it, Frank did appear to be quite a moaner...

Channel 4 are offering 2 DVDs of the whole five-part series through their website at www.channel4.com/4car. However there's no information about the DVD going on sale.

I'm just surprised that they scheduled the first of the series to coincide with live coverage of the Chinese Grand Prix and at 7:55am on a Sunday. Hardly likely to attract anyone but the diehard sportscar fan!

I happened to stumble across it (It was my daughter's birthday so we were all up early!) and it was surprisingly good.

Will try and look out for the rest of the series (assuming C4 show them all...)

Cheers.

Like I said, it's just a little bit long for the rest of them to come but here are the times:

Sunday 26th September 7.55am,
Sunday 3rd October 8.00am,
10th, 17th, 24th October 8.30am.

Each episode will also be repeated during the following week

Watching the latest programme it reminds me of the speed tribe DVD, with the music and the graphics. Any idea what those guys are doing?

Is it just my dodgy video tape, or are the track shots especially the sebring ones shown with too much contrast? The track looked white!

I caught most of the program that was on Sunday and I have to say it was pretty good. I'll be watching at 8.25 on Sunday morning, while it beat's watching the GP on ITV1.........

Definitely, for me 30 mins of LMES sportscar is more enjoyable than 3 hours of F1. two down, three to go now.

If, like me, you forgot (or were away) last Saturday morning, this is repeated in the early hours of tomorrow morning :

Channel 4 03:25 Le Mans Endurance 2004
[repeat]
Inside the Mind of a Sportscar Team
The second episode of the new five-part series on the Le Mans 24-hour race, the greatest sports car race in the world.

Cheers.

I'm pretty sure this series will be available on DVD in the future. Last year Audi UK comissioned a film about their 2003 Le Mans campaign which was shown on various TV stations and is now avaialable to buy on DVD.

Someone on this forum pointed out the name of the production company who made the film and they sell the DVD on their website.

Can anyone recall the production company/website name?

I watch it this morning this morning, well I need to see some real Motor Racing after watching the GP. Oh and it brought back some memories from June, they only shown the first half of the race today, with rest being on next weekend. Even our very Hindy popped up from time to time.

Missed last weekend's episode, but after watching the Monza one I found a scene that i'm in the background of - Herbert leaving the pits during the safety car period.

Not much of a claim to fame, but it amused me!
