Heres a thought then......everyone keeps talking about Irvine replacing Sato at Jordan , well , whats the chance then that if Sato is replaced , then it is Webber that replaces him instead of Irvine ?...

If Ford want Webber on board , would they push for him to have a Jordan seat ?

I reckon that would be a good move Sato san. Mark would do a better job than Eddie anyway.

I really don't want Mark to go to Jag.

That would be fantastic for Mark except for one thing - Fisichella.

Fisi is making a career out of making good drivers look second rate, and I'm a little worried about how ready Mark is for a team mate of Fisi's standard.

That said, what a fantastic blend of experience, youth and speed EJ would get.

Webber should be able to go up against Fisi ok .. Everyone knows how good Fisi is , but if your a good driver you should always be prepared to go up against anyone ...well, as long as you know will get a fair crack at it .....and i think Jordan wouldnt hamper Webber at all.

I still reckon Sato would be the better choice for Jordan.

Webber in the Jordan... FAR better than going to Jaguar (boooo hiss...) As for Sato, I see no reason for any team to touch him... expect to see him in the Jag...

Valve Bounce has been held in scrutiny for further testing
This entire thread is based on unconfirmed rumours, not even based on any reported factual account. A couple of weeks ago, The Australian even tried to con us into thinking mark would be driving for Ferrari which turned out to be an unlikely impossibility that Minardi just might get the cash to afford customr Ferrari engines and that Mark might not leave. Like Jughead said: "Give me the facts and I'll print them". This is all just Bullamakanka.

Da Matta is pessimistic about going to Toyota because Haas wants too much for his contract. Frentzen is out of the loop, Irvine won't get it, so if Da Matta doesn't its Mark or Massa.

You're kidding right, Freud.

Alright, you've got 3 rookies to pick from this year - Massa, Sato and Webber - who do you take? I know who the most impressive has been - MW. Massa next - he's been fast but made mistakes. Then Sato - who I think is a good driver, but he hasn't really shown it this year (of course, he is hampered by being teammate to Fisi).

Personally, I'd like to see Mark line up against Fisi. If he can better Fisi, he will be in line for a top drive. If not, then let's all move on!

I believe Webber is currently the best English-speaking driver in the grid (put DC in a Minardi and you'll see what happens).

The best choice would be to have MW in a Jordan-Ford. Jaguar is a failed excercise in marketing for overpaid yuppies to buy retro-saloons.

The future has a big blue oval and it will be in a Jordan....managed by EJ ( ). Well...no one said this is a perfect world....Perhaps EJ could sail one of his boats to Fiji and leave the team to Sir Jackie...or....(OK. I can dream can't I??)

Good luck to Mark ....he deserves it.

Cheers,

RT

Webber does have his pick of F1 seats it seems, but I think he will end up going to Jaguar. All the reports state that he's almost/has signed on the dotted line with Jaguar.

My semi-reliable mail says a Jag deal was done but all this are they selling who is running is a factory team gave everyone an out and no finalisation will now be made until the Jaguar/Ford/Redbull/Jordan/Arrows/minardi relationships are all worked out.

So they shout announce him to drive in June next year :-)

Well he did fly for Mercedes, and did some rather spectacular aerobatics.

Webber did an interview on Australian TV just before the Belgian race where he said that he was very close to signing for Jaguar, but there was another team still holding his interest at the moment.

I think that all the moves will depend on what Eddie Irvine will do; as much as many malign him, his intentions for next year will have a bearing on what seats are available. I still think that Jaguar will probably be the most likely destination.
